Winnipeg and Brandon. The Davis Brothers Brick Yard began production areund 1892, followed by the McVicars in 1895 and Sidney Brick and Tile in 1909. Tfre company was renarned Sidney Brick and Clay Works around 7927, and operated until 1927. Alsip Brick, Tile and Lumber also made bricks here from 1927 to c1931. The SIDNEY brick shown here has a coa-rsetexture and was made in a hand-mould, or possible on a small portable brick-making machine. The overall dimensions varJr slighfly, and marks on the bottom indicate the slats of wood that formed the bottom of the mould box. This brick was recovered during conversion of the I9I2 Leader Building, Regina, into condominiums. Here the bricks were used to face the sides and back of the structure.
