VEKA Matrix 70
18 Windows & 1 Door PROJECT
The job included the new VEKA Matrix 70, including 18 casement windows and one residential door. The project was on a 1970’s style 5 bedroom house in the Cheshire suburb of Alderley Edge.
SPECIFICATION
The customer want to enhance and modernise the exterior of the property, by replacing the existing white PVCu windows with anthracite grey, in a mullion style. Also replaced with anthracite grey PVCu, was the current roofline. The dated and fading white PVCu cladding was removed, the brickwork was rendering with K-Rend, as well as installing natural stone cills.
CLIENT FEEDBACK:
“We are really pleased with the windows and we’ve received a few compliments from neighbours.”
CONCLUSION
The work is now completed apart from the rendering. It was quite interesting to find out from the Local Authority Planning Department that you can replace windows and roofline albeit in a different colour without permission, however if you want to change the appearance of a property by rendering over the bricks this does require planning permission. A planning application has been made and we don’t expect it to be refused as many other properties on the Crescent have had the same treatment, but we wonder how many other companies are aware of this rule as it is currently a very popular renovation. So, as we speak, we are awaiting Planning Approval or we might have to go to plan B!
