Lucy L. (Wiegel) Moyer SARATOGA SPRINGS — Lucy L. (Wiegel) Moyer, 88, passed away Sunday, September 15 at the Wesley Health Care Center. Born on April 22, 1925 in Washington Mills, she was the daughter of the late George and Adella (Houmbruck) Wiegel and had worked for several years as a caretaker for Barton Mines Corp. in North Creek. She was a former member of VFW Post 420 Ladies Auxiliary and was predeceased by her husband, Earl Moyer, one brother and a sister. Survivors include her

daughter, Patricia Poulette of Gansevoort; two sons, Douglas and Trudi Moyer of South Glens Falls and Paul Moyer and Sandy Perryman of Stillwater and Sandy’s children, Alyssa Tyler and David Braley, Jr.; four grandchildren; James Poulette, III, David Moyer, Jacqueline Poulette and Tara Moyer; one great-granddaughter, Tatiyana Rhodes; several cousins, nephews and one niece. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the physicians and staff on 3 Springs at Wesley for their kind and loving care of Lucy for the past seven years.

Colleen M. (Dwyer) Gradwell SARATOGA SPRINGS — Colleen M. (Dwyer) Gradwell, 63, of Saratoga Springs, passed away Friday, September 20. Born in Troy, May 20, 1950, she was the daughter of Eleanor (Cote) Dwyer and the late Edward Dwyer. Colleen worked for the NYS Comptroller’s Office for 26 years, retiring from the Unclaimed Funds Division in 2005. Colleen was very active in civic and charitable organizations. She served as vice president of the Saratoga Springs Fraternal Order of Eagles and secretary of American Legion Post 234 Ladies Auxiliary. She was a life member of VFW Post 358 Ladies Auxiliary, and member of Ballston Spa Elks Lodge 2619, ITAM and Principessa Elena Society Auxiliary. Colleen also served as secretary of the Ballston Spa Memorial Day Parade Committee.

She was predeceased by her father Edward Dwyer. Colleen is survived by her husband Edward J. Gradwell; her mother, Eleanor (Cote) Dwyer; her children, Melanie Massie of Ballston Spa, Jennifer Bear of Rotterdam, Edward R. Gradwell of Newport News, Virginia and Thomas Gradwell of Saratoga Springs; grandchildren, Jessica Koscielniak, Kayla Countermine, Ashley Gradwell, Deanna Gradwell, Brandon Countermine and Justin Gradwell; great grandson, Mason Koscielniak; brothers, Timothy Dwyer (Woon Yee Chau) of Honolulu, Hawaii, Colin Dwyer of New York City, Terry Dwyer of Waterford, Edward Dwyer of Saratoga Springs, sister Claudell Galea (Anthony) of Hudson, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.

Timothy Mullen GREENWICH — Timothy Mullen, 70, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 21 at his summer residence in Saratoga Springs. Born on October 12, 1942 in Saratoga Springs, he was the son of the late Gerald and Rita (Brown) Mullen. Tim was a Lieutenant of the Saratoga Springs Fire Department, retiring in 1987. He then owned and operated Mullens Tree Service. He was a life member of the Saratoga Springs Fraternal Order of Eagles, serving as President for five years. Tim also was a member of the Sons of the American Legion

Post No. 70 and Greenwich Elks Lodge No. 2223. He was very devoted to the Eagles Club and his favorite pastime was playing cards with all his friends there. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his two sisters, Rose Guby and Catherine Broughton. Survivors include his wife of 18 years, Ruth Ann (Foster) Mullen; one sister, Peg Jeram of Saratoga Springs; seven children, John Mullen, Laurie Nazareth, Lynn Rohling, Karie Mullen, Stacy Schulderberg, Lisa Johnson and David O’Brien all of Seminole, Florida; two step-children, Christopher Fisher of Manlius and Suzette Kuzmich of Greenwich.

Jane H. Gomez BALLSTON SPA — Jane H. Gomez, 64, of Ballston Spa, passed away Sunday, September 22 at her home. Born in Mineola, on February 13, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Teresa Hyer. Jane was a homemaker. She was an active communicant of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ballston Spa. Jane started the prayer shawl ministry at the church and crocheted hundreds of shawls. She was recognized by Bishop

Howard Hubbard for her efforts. Jane is survived by her beloved husband, Robert; son, Patrick O’Brien of Camp, Arkansas; grandchildren, Thomas, Colin and Rose; brother and his spouse, Raymond Hyer (Kathleen) of Tampa, Florida; sisters and their spouses, Therese Reich (Heio) of Tampa, Mary Claire Shuman (Barry) of Tampa, Kathryn Hyer (James Soley) of Tampa; and Marlena Kern (John) of Manhasset; and many nieces and nephews.

Thomas Dennis Canary, Jr. STILLWATER— Thomas Dennis Canary, Jr., 70, passed away Monday, September 23 at The Community Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital. Born February 10, 1943 in Stillwater, he was the son of the late Thomas D. Sr. and Helena C. Bacon Canary. A lifelong resident of Stillwater, Tom graduated from Catholic Central High School in

1960. On April 25, 1965 Tom married the love of his life, the former Lucielle Anne Volpe, celebrating 48 years of marriage this year. He worked his early years at the West Virginia Pulp & Paper Company in Mechanicville before going to the GE Silicone Plant in Waterford, retiring after 32 years in 2002. In addition to his wife, Tom is survived by his daughter, Deanna Stickney and Randy Mosher; two granddaughters, Deborah Bombard and her husband Tim and Guinevere Phelps; one grandson, Robert Stickney; two great-grandsons, Timothy and Nathan Bombard; one sister, Helena “Candy” Connor; his adopted family member, Kathy Baker Starks; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and cousins.

Paul VanCour SARATOGA SPRINGS — Paul VanCour, 88, passed away Tuesday, September 17. Paul was born October 28, 1924 to Fred P. VanCour and Florence (O’Malley) VanCour. He grew up on the family’s dairy farm in Bloomingdale and delivered milk in the Saranac Lake area for many years. It was in his beloved Adirondacks where Paul started his life-long love of the outdoors, and during his life Paul spent many enjoyable times hunting and fishing. Paul was also an accomplished heavy equipment operator and helped build many highway projects, among them the Adirondack Northway. In 1966, he married the love of his life, Jeanne Decoeur Chretien.

Paul is survived by his sister, Inez VanCour, of Front Royal, Virginia; stepsons Tom Chretien (Margaret) of Saratoga Springs, Paul Chretien (Julie) of Bethlehem, Pennsylvaina, and Gerry Chretien (Carol) of Moline, Illinois; grandchildren Chad Chretien, Stacy Wilson (Bill), and Corrie Nelson (Anthony); and great-grandchildren Morgyn Britt, Alexis Britt, Isaak Britt, Natalie Wilson and Owen Nelson, as well as cousins and nieces. There will be no visiting hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, October 4 at St. Clements Church. Interment will be in the St. Alphonsus Cemetery in Tupper Lake on Sunday, October 6 at 1 p.m.
