ALBANY — Robby Krieger, pictured here during his days with The Doors, will perform June 9 at the Skyloft music venue, at Crossgates Mall in Albany. Show time is 8 p.m. and tickets are $40 advance, $45 day of show. The venue will host upcoming appearances by Blue Oyster Cult, on June 27, and the Jefferson Starship – minus first generation ex-Airplane members Paul Kantner, Marty Balin, and Grace Slick – on July 12. SARATOGA SPRINGS — During the month of June, Northshire Bookstore will host public events in Saratoga Springs. Unless otherwise noted, these events are free and open to the public and will take place at Northshire Bookstore Saratoga, 424 Broadway. Saturday, June • 8 - 7 p.m. Christian Di Spigna - Founding Martyr: The Life and Death of Dr. Joseph Warren, The American Revolution’s Lost Hero. Author and historian Christian Di Spigna will discuss his book, a Northshire staff favorite. Little has been known of one of the most important figures in early American history, Dr. Joseph Warren, an architect of the colonial rebellion, and a man who might have led the country as Washington or Jefferson did had he not been martyred at Bunker Hill in 1775. Thursday, June 13 • 6 p.m. Chris Arnade - Dignity: Seeking

Respect in Back Row America. Widely acclaimed photographer and writer Chris Arnade will share his new book which shines new light on America’s poor, drugaddicted, and forgotten--both urban and rural, blue state and red state--and indicts the elitists who’ve left them behind. Friday, June 14 • 7 p.m. David Crews - Wander-Thrush. The author will be joined by wilderness advocate Tyler Socash. This event will be the culmination of a fundraising project to help protect the Eagle Mountain Wilderness Preserve in the northern Adirondacks, and will celebrate the importance of wild spaces through conversation and literature. Sunday, June 16 • 2-5 p.m. Bloomsday Celebration. Drop by for a very special celebration of James Joyce’s Ulysses. Bloomsday marks the day that the events of this landmark

novel take place. A celebration with a drop-in community read-aloud and conversation. Tuesday, June 18 • 4 p.m. The Apple Tree Journal. An evening with poets and writers from The Academy for Lifelong Learning sponsored by Empire State College in Saratoga Springs. This event will celebrate “The Apple Tree,” a journal of selected prose, poetry, art and photography created by members of The Academy. Wednesday, June 26 • 7 p.m. Nicholas Mancusi - A Philosophy of Ruin. Nicholas Mancusi will celebrate the release of his debut novel. A young philosophy professor finds himself in the middle of a drug-running operation after his personal life derails in this taut, white-knuckle thrill ride perfect for fans of Breaking Bad.
