Set in the heart of Brooklyn, New York, la fourche French dining seeks to conjure the message portrayed in The Devil Wears Prada: To step outside of your comfort zone and be unafraid to express your personality through design. la fourche unapologetically uses color and design to create a bold, yet inviting atmosphere for the diner.

SPACE PROGRAM

A. Setting 1. Building: Existing Structure- Restaurant 2. Areas: Entry, host stand, coat check, bathrooms, storage, back of house, bar, dining, bar seating, lounge, patio, party room and private patio 3. Identity/ Description: Fine Dining - French B. Users 1. Estimated Number of Users: 300 user capacity 2. Roles of the Users: Costumers are easily able to locate the areas of need 3. Locations of Users: Entry, host stand, coat check, bar, dining, restrooms, outdoor patio, lounge, party room C. Functions 1. Primary Functions of the Space: Host stand, bar, dining, restrooms, patio, lounge, party room 2. Secondary Functions of the Space: Entrance, storage, back of house, exit 3. Support (General Aspects of the Space): Storage room, bathrooms, back of house D. Standard Objectives 1. Health & Safety: Meet all NFPA & ADA codes- materials selected for durability 2. Physical & Psychological Issues: Acoustically sound throughout building- Natural light brought in from windows, along with ceiling lighting air temperature is set to a comfortable amount for employees and customers, around 68 degrees- air ventilation in all bathrooms and back of house 3. Operational Issues: Bathroom stall(s) equip for wheelchair accessibility - 5ft radius for wheelchair accessibility in walk ways/ in between tables.

4. Psychological Issues: French fine dining with aesthetic touches from the movie The Devil Wears Prada 5. Contextual Issues: Successful gathering spaces for costumers to socialize, eat and drink with their friends and family.

E. Relationships Among the Subdivisions 1. Spatial Adjacency: Host stand and coat check by entry – bar easily accessed by the entry - dining space throughout restaurant – lounge area towards the back of house – bathrooms towards the front of house – outdoor patio parallel to bar – party room and patio to the left of outdoor patio space 2. Standard Practices: employees must be familiar with menu and table set up - costumer service is genuine, kind, and helpful G. Anticipated Future

Furniture Accommodations: Lounge sofas – dining table & chairs I. Subdivision Systems Requirements 1. Environment Support: Air temperature stays around 68 degrees- Multiple light switches to turn on and off specific and needed lights- outlets by host stand, bar and throughout dining - signage that directs consumers in the direction needed.

J. Conclusions 1. Specialized Design Characteristics: Unique use of textiles, recessed dining area, raised bar, custom wallcovering, stone exterior.
