All bulls sell under the suggested terms & conditions set forth by the Red Angus Association of America. All announcements from the sale block take precedence over any printed material.

BULLS SELLING

Smoky Y Ranch is retaining one-third semen interest on all bulls sold unless specified differently in the sale catalog. This gives Smoky Y the option to collect, use and market semen fro the bull at their expense and the buyers convenience.

LIABILITY

All persons attending the sale do so at their own risk. Neither Smoky Y Ranch, nor any other person connected with the management of the sale, assumes any liability, legal or otherwise.

GUARANTEE

All bulls have passed a breeding soundess exam and are guaranteeed to be breeders. Each animal becomes a risk of buyer as soon as sold. All bulls selling for $4000 or more are guaranteed against breeding injury for the first breeding season. A breeding season is defined as 90 days after turn out. Breeding injury is defined as an injury to penis or preputial tear with inability to extend. This is not an insurance policy. This guarantee does not cover non-breeding injury resulting from an accident or gross negligence. If any breeding injury occurs, contact Smoky Y Ranch or Dr. Miller - or have your veterinarian contact Dr. Miller. If a replacement bull is available he will be provided, or if the buyer prefers, 1/2 of the purchase price value will be applied toward another bull in the next sale. Buyer keeps salvage value. Notification must be made prior to or during the first breeding season.

DELIVERY

Free trucking for purchases in KS and adjoining states. Beyond that point will find a central location. Also free trucking for purchases of five bulls or more in the lower 48 states. $100 off per bull if picked up on sale day. All female delivery is the responsibility of the buyer.

HERD HEALTH

All bulls in the sale will have been semen checked & passed a fertility & soundess exam. Health certificates can be issued on any animal in the sale, making them eligible for interstate shipment. The bulls & females in sale have been preweaned & weaning vaccinated for respiratory disease. They have been poured, dewormed & ear notch tested for BVD

We welcome you to our Annual Spring Bull Sale, we are proud to present this year’s offering. We believe these bulls are easily the best and deepest we have offered to date. Last year was an exciting time, with our lead off bull setting the bar high. We are certain this year easily surpasses the previous herd sire prospects offered.

Our goal is CONSTANT, striving to create a more versatile and well-rounded quality animal. We take our role as your seedstock provider very seriously and we continue to bring in elite genetics to propel our program in a forward moving direction. Phenotype, structural integrity, forage efficiency, longevity, and fertility go hand in hand. We run our registered cowherd just like you. The cattle that carry the S-Y brand are required to work for a living year round. Our cowherd only know large pasture settings that require athleticism and durability.

It is our objective to continue to enhance the quality of our bull offering each year for you, our loyal and valued customers. Pushing forward and expanding our registered Red Angus cow herd to provide a quality in volume, we will keep the same disciplined approach to our herd management and selection criteria to ensure the cattle make the brand.

Welcome to the Smoky Y Annual Bull Sale! The amount of effort the Younkin Family puts into building the Smoky Y brand is what drew me to help them market these real-world bulls! Like the line in the George Strait Movie (Pure Country), ‘I’m Tired of all the Smoke and lights and want to get back to the REAL!’ You found the place, the cow herd, and production is ran on large pastures scattered across dry open prairies, where what you see - is what you get.

Sorted the old-fashioned way: either they work, or they don’t. The hearty, hard-working females that breed back and produce pounds are the backbone of the Smoky Y Ranch. Home of letting mother nature take the reins, one year at a time, and in the end, they have an elite purposeful set of building blocks to produce bulls that should and will thrive in any climate or grass type.

This year’s Bull lineup has something for everyone: older age advanced bulls, strong and powerful yearlings, cow bulls built to produce pounds and frame, and extreme heifer bulls with added growth and carcass traits.
