YUKON, Okla. - A new Credit Union Service Center in Yukon accommodates credit union members and their schedule by staying open later during the weekdays and operating on both Saturdays and Sundays. "We're happy to provide Oklahomans with flexible times to access their money," said Shannon Townsend, CEO of Credit Union Service Centers. "Online and mobile banking are great, but depositing and withdrawing tangible cash and checks are starting to become an underrated accommodation. Most banking establishments close by 5 p.m., leaving their members without access to the cash in their account once they get off work themselves, that's where we come in,” said Townsend. In a 2015 study, The Diary of Consumer Payment Choice (Diary) found that cash continues to be the most frequently used consumer payment instrument, is widely used in a variety of circumstances, and dominates small-value transactions. The organization services over 1,500 credit unions across the country. "I'm so happy that Yukon is finally getting a CUSC. I've been going to them for my banking needs since I moved to Oklahoma 20 years ago," said Sheila Adams, a member of Georgia United Credit Union. "It's a god-send for me and my husband when we need some cash or to deposit checks after work." The Service Center provides simple transactions such as deposits, withdraws, transfers from one credit union account to another, cashier’s checks and money orders. A free notary service is also available for members. CUSC has six branches located in Tulsa, Oklahoma City, Midwest City, Moore, Norman, and Yukon.
