FAITH IN ACTION ‘FIAT’

There have been many FIAT (Faith In Action Team) initiatives that have been set up this year to engage and inspire our young people in their faith journey.

In the School of Curiosity, we have K-4 Praise and Worship every Tuesday, which is an opportunity for students to help build their understanding of God and how to build a relationship with Him through a talk, discussion and even praise and worship dance Every Friday, there is K-4 Eucharistic Adoration with Fr Carlos where students can spend some quiet time with Jesus who is truly present in the Eucharist.

A School of Connect youth group started this year to provide a welcoming space for students to connect with one another and deepen their understanding of Catholic teachings. Through fellowship, fun activities, and spiritual growth, the youth group aims to nurture their faith and leadership skills Every Tuesday, there is 5-12 Eucharistic Adoration in the chapel to allow students the time to deepen their relationship with God through silent prayer and reflection before the Blessed Sacrament.

VOICE OF YOUTH AND TALK LIKE TED

This term, we also saw the presentations of Stage 3 speaking competitions including Year 6 Voice of Youth and Year 5 Talk like TED Students showed great interest in preparing and presenting their speeches to their peers based on topics of their choice. We were also very excited to have Mica from Year 6 move forward to present at the Voice of Youth Semi-Finals

STAGE 3 ‘ON THE BALL’ INITIATIVE

At the beginning of Term 3, Stage 3 students were asked what goal they thought their homeroom needed to work on. Students identified that 'following teacher instructions immediately' would be their homeroom goal for all of Stage 3 Teachers introduced the 'On the Ball' jar where students received marble stickers whenever the whole class was achieving the goal. This looked like lining up in alphabetical order, being on time to class, moving from the floor to tables and working to complete set activities.

As well as identifying their goal, students also voted for their whole class reward. Majority of students voted for a mufti day whilst one Year 6 homeroom voted for a movie session. It has been fantastic to see students working towards their rewards and earning marbles as a collective and filling their jars in Week 10 Students are looking forward to next term's goal and reward already!
