Seniors Return to Steele Lane Steele Lane Community Center is abuzz once again with senior programs! Many programs from the Bennett Valley Senior Center are now offered at Steele and seniors are enjoying the new billiards room created just for them! Enjoy Activities Mon- Fri, 9am-2pm Drop by for a cup of coffee in the social room or play a game of pool (members only). Bingo happens every Mon and Fri (11:30am2:30pm, $2) as well as Needlecraft on Mon (10am-noon, $3) and Party Bridge on Thu (11am-2pm, $4). Drop-in exercise classes are available too, such as: Tai Chi on Mon (9-10am, $4), Stretch & Bend on Tu and Thu (9:45am-10:45am, $3), Chair Volleyball on Mon (10:30-11:30am, $3) and Senior Exercise on Mon/Wed/Fri (9-10am, $3). If you like music, beginning and advanced Ukulele classes are available on Wed or join the Silver Singers on Thu (10-11am, $2).

Take a Tour & Meet the Staff Linda Kynoch is at the front desk to check you in, sell membership passes, and answer questions. Mickey Remy is the coordinator who oversees programs and classes. Facility attendant Preston Schubert sets up the rooms and makes the coffee each day! Plus, many additional staff with the Recreation & Parks Department also work out of Steele Lane, making it a bustling and vibrant place! Linda Kynoch

Joanna Moore & Al Pritchard

Please welcome Al Pritchard to the Person Senior Wing (PSW). After working at the Bennett Valley Senior Center for the past two years, he’s looking forward to taking over for Joanna Moore, who is moving on to Rec & Parks’ Neighborhood Services program. “I’ve really enjoyed working with seniors,” says Joanna. “It’s fun helping to make a difference and improve people’s quality of life. I’ve loved learning about our participants’ experiences and building strong relationships” she adds. Join us in wishing Joanna success as she continues her career path!
