Twenty- ve years ago, after earning my degree in architectural/construction technology, I landed my rst role as an estimator and project
manager for a commercial construction company willing to take a chance on a young woman fresh out of college. After some time in that industry— and enduring Bu alo, New York’s frigid winters—my husband Jason, our two young children, and I (with one on the way) decided to relocate to Englewood, Florida, in 2005. I was quickly hired as an estimator for a residential construction company, then transitioned to a mitigation company, earning several certi cations. A few years later, I obtained my insurance
adjuster’s license in Florida and over 25 other states, along with my contractor’s license.
Paradise Island Contracting began in the spring of 2011 in the small home o ce Jason and I shared. Fast forward—today we’re preparing to celebrate 15 years of believing in quality over quantity and bringing clients’ visions to reality. We’re also building a new o ce in South Gulf Cove to replace our McCall location, which was severely damaged by Hurricane Ian.

We plan to participate in the revitalization of Olde Englewood Village by creating events for local Artists, Musicians and Performers. Our goal is to establish Olde Englewood Village as a Destination Artist Community, enhancing the social and economic development of the village.
Our Outdoor Artist Gallery rebooted and funded the 2023 Pioneer Days Parade. We added an Indoor Gallery, 2 Art Shows, Feathers and Flippers Sculptures, the Coastal
Wildlife Educational Garden and a Woodstock Benefit Concert for St. David’s Jubilee Center, raising $9000. The Discover Englewood Village 2025-26 promotional calendar features events in and around the Village.
Our new Music Instruments for Englewood Students program has already received 10 instruments for our schools. IRS letters are available for donors.
The Artist Colony planted the seeds and roots of our nonprofit is established. We look forward to new additions to our established events.

Many of you know my story. I moved to Englewood in 2017 from Charleston, South Carolina. I have been the General Manager at The Waverly Restaurant and Bar for the last three years after the Beach Road Wine Bar and Bistro closed. The best part of my job is working alongside my childhood best friend of 45 years, Jill Hemmes.
We have been through so much together and now we get to share the joy of building something special at The Waverly. These past three years have not been without obstacles. The Waverly has endured three major hurricanes, each one leaving behind its own challenges. Still, every storm has given us a reason to come back stronger, and our focus remains on making The Waverly the very best version of itself for our guests and community.
Outside of work, my greatest joy comes from my family. I have been happily married to my husband, Dennis, for over 20 years. We share two amazing children, Anthony and Gina-Marie. We also have two
adorable grandchildren, Peyton-Rose and James Louis IV. They are my inspiration and a constant reminder of why perseverance and hard work matter. At the end of the day, family and community are what drive me forward.
In the end, my personal inspiration will always be re ected in my professional achievements. Being active in the community in which I live, and work has always been my dream. I am still active in Englewood Chamber’s leadership program, and I enjoy working with the Chamber at many local events. I am also very proud of being a part of A Night of Empowerment. This year will be the 3rd annual event which bene ts Saint David’s Jubilee Center.
