of KALE

A WORLD OF WONDERS IN A LITTLE LEAF  BY ALEXANDRA KRUEGER If you don’t know what kale is… Well, let’s be honest: everyone in California knows what kale is. However, while most people know that kale is a superfood, they don’t really know what makes it any different than any other leafy green at the grocery store. Kale one of the most nutrient dense foods on the planet (spinach can’t even say that!) This means that, for a small number of calories, Kale packs huge amounts of vitamins and minerals that boast dozens of health benefits. Trying to increase your nutrient intake? Kale. Want to protect your eyesight? Kale. Looking to lower your cholesterol? Kale. Wondering how to reduce your risk of cancer? Kale, kale, kale. 108

Aside from its impact on your overall health, there’s a reason kale is hugely popular in places like LA, where beauty is everything. If you know anything about natural beauty, you know that it all starts on the inside: you literally are what you eat. Kale contains tons of antioxidants, vitamins A, B, C, and the rare vitamin K, iron, calcium, protein, and potassium. Essentially, eating Kale is like a spa treatment for your skin, nails, and hair. You can also apply kale products directly to your face. It has hydrating and antiinflammatory properties that can calm redness and brighten your complexion. All that being said, you might be wondering about some creative ways you can incorporate kale into your diet (After all, how many salads can we really be expected to eat?). Check out these awesome recipes for a truly delicious does of this leafy super food.
