Check Your Mood Day is an annual event encouraging San Diegans to assess and monitor their emotional well-being. It’s as important as getting blood pressure checked or being screened for heart disease or diabetes. Organizations across the county will offer free mental health resources and Check Your Mood screenings to help raise awareness for mental health. Kids: Submit Your Drawings! In honor of Military Family Appreciation month in November, we would like to invite kids (ages 2–14) to submit “thankful” drawings that express gratitude for our armed forces and the families who support them. Select drawings will be featured on our Instagram story in November. Please email hi-res photos of artwork to editor@ sandiegofamily.com. Include child’s name, age and area of San Diego County your family lives. Deadline: Oct. 21.
