Katie Sabin Just Add Sunshine Katie Sabin is the owner, designer and maker behind Just Add Sunshine. Her brand features colorful signs, bright stickers and positive messages. The Escondido mom of four began crafting consistently about 15 years ago, after the birth of her eldest sons, who are fraternal twins. “It was a great outlet for me from the everyday routine of life and newborns, especially in those early days when getting out and about with twins was tricky,” she says. Sabin started decorating frames and boxes with scrapbook paper and Mod Podge. Later, she ventured into painting and sign-making. She started to sell her creations at craft fairs, which was both fun and energizing. “It was like an awakening in me,” says Sabin. “I realized that being creative was open to everyone and could be showcased in many different ways.” A lifelong San Diegan, Sabin loves the beach and all things light and sunny. She draws inspiration from favorite quotes, poems and sayings, which she collects in a book. “The happy, colorful brightness in my signs and stickers, combined with the positivity of the messages makes me smile and I hope that others feel the same way.” Follow Just Add Sunshine on Instagram @JustAddSunshineInc and shop the store on Etsy at www.etsy.com/shop/justaddsunshineinc.

Dace Corlett Wild Crumb Bakery For 29 years, classically trained chef Dace Corlett was a dedicated stay-athome parent to her four children. Like many of us, the Poway mom began baking in earnest during lockdown. Harnessing that nervous, early-pandemic energy, Corlett set out to create the perfect sourdough. Around the same time, her youngest child, an 18-yearold ballet dancer, was invited to train professionally out of state. “Financially, COVID had been tough, so I knew I would have to get creative to help her to realize her dreams,” says Corlett. That’s how Wild Crumb Bakery came to be—a pinch of necessity and a heaping scoop of passion. Corlett bakes from a home kitchen as a fully licensed Cottage Food Operator. Everything is baked to order— fresh and delicious. Wild Crumb offers a unique selection of sourdough items like a Roasted Garlic Asiago Rosemary sourdough loaf, Sourdough Crumb Cake—even Salted Sourdough Chocolate Chip Cookies. Other menu highlights include garden focaccia, cupcakes and DIY cookie decorating sets. “Most people love to entertain, but don’t love being in the kitchen. I make it easy for them!” says Corlett. “I offer fast turnaround times and I care deeply that my customers have a good experience, right down to packaging. I want you to feel good when you open up your bag and see what is inside!” Orders can be placed via social media, phone or email. Simply choose the items you’d like and indicate the best time for pickup or limited delivery.
