Mother’s Day, Camps and More Fun Stuff We want to give a big shout-out to all San Diego moms on
May 8: Happy Mother’s Day! There are many moms who run their own businesses. Some started long ago and others in the past two years. We highlight 15 this month — read about them here and on pages 22 through 26. In our April issue, we covered how to discover your parenting personality through the Enneagram. This month on page 28 our Parenting with Purpose writer, Jody Cates, suggests using the Enneagram to discover and nurture your child’s unique personality. Knowing each of your personalities makes it easier to work together. With school getting out in a few weeks, it’s time to sign the kids up for fun summer camps and classes. Check the advertisements in this issue, talk with the kids and decide which ones they would like. There is more information about each camp on our website at www.sandiegofamily.com/ resources/summer-camps-and-programs/time-for-camp. Register now while there is still space. Read the article on page 16 for fun activities that help prepare kids for camp. I love the sleeping bag relay race idea. I really need to practice that one — especially with the down-filled bags. Look through the calendar of events and mark your calendar for family fun. Some of the events are back after a two-year hiatus, which is exciting for everyone. Again, I want to tell all our mom readers to enjoy Mother’s Day. It is so special to be a mom. Enjoy your family; They have helped make you that special mom.
