Refunds: If you request to withdraw from a camp at least 2 weeks or more before the camp starts, a refund will be issued, minus a $10 refund fee. A refund request less than two weeks before the camp begins will not be approved.
Transfers: If you request to transfer from one camp to another at least two weeks before the camp starts, the transfer will be processed (if space is available). A transfer request less than two weeks before the (registered) camp begins will not be approved.

All of our summer camps have the option of a payment plan. You can select the payment plan option during the checkout process. Camps must be paid in full prior to the start date. Payments will automatically be withdrawn using your credit card.
The Parks and Recreation Department offers a Fee Assistance Program, funded in partnership with the Parks and Recreation Foundation of San Carlos, to make summer camps and classes more affordable! Eligible families can fill out an application and submit for review.

Adventure Camps are offered weekly throughout summer for kids ages 4-12 years. Join friends –and make new friends – in these summer camps filled will all sorts of fun adventures. Drop your campers off between 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m., camp activities will begin at 9:00 a.m.

San Carlos Parks and Recreation is looking for confident, enthusiastic, and responsible teens to be leaders in training (L.I.T.E.s) at our Summer Adventure and Sports Camps. If you enjoy working with children and want to learn valuable job and leadership skills working with our trained day camp leaders, you can apply! This is a great way to fulfill service hours or get work experience. L.I.T.E.s will assist with both the supervision of campers and the daily operation of camp. Applicants must be 13 years old by the first day of camp. Mandatory training will be held on Friday, June 13 from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

This two-week camp is the purr-fect experience for young performers eager to dive into the excitement of rehearsing and performing a show on stage. Based on the beloved Disney film and featuring a jazzy, upbeat score, The Aristocats KIDS is packed with laughs, catchy songs, and tons of feline fun. Guided by a director, choreographer, and vocal director, campers build essential skills in auditioning, singing, dancing, and acting, while boosting their creativity through theater games and activities. The camp culminates with a one-act performance for the community on the final day, complete with lights, sets, and costumes!

Become a tech star this summer and uncover the secrets of working behind the scenes in theater! Over two weeks of hands-on training, campers will learn how to program light and sound equipment, build sets, and create special effects for live performances. In the final week, campers will put their newfound skills to use as part of the tech crew for SCCT’s mini musical The Aristocats KIDS. With limited enrollment, each tech camper receives plenty of personalized instruction to enhance their learning experience. The last two classes, June 26 & 27, will be 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Kids love wild animals so join us for a week of wild theater fun as we pretend to hop like kangaroos, roar like lions, and laugh like hyenas. Little ones are encouraged to use their big imaginations in this fun play-based theater class using music, dance and stories with animal themes. Youngsters will learn about acting using their bodies, facial expressions, and emotions, as well as practice using their “big” voices and speaking with confidence. Last day of camp will include a short showcase performance for families. Note: Children must be potty trained and verbal to enroll.

This camp offers children the opportunity to express themselves through art and creative movement. The instructor initiates the class through breathing exercises to promote focus, awareness, and a sense of calm. During the yoga component of the class, children explore fun poses, stretches, games, and mindful activities. Following yoga, children create a work of art based on the theme explored in yoga session such as the earth, animals, or the ocean. Projects involve various media such as painting, pastel, zentangle and drawing. Campers should wear comfortable clothes that allow free movement and bring a water bottle, a yoga mat, and a snack. Students are encouraged to develop problem-solving skills while building their own cool projects using applied math and fractions. Kids are introduced to a wide range of hand tools, safety, and craftsmanship. Projects include super tops, boats, clocks, games, doll furniture, bird feeders, and more. Your junior chef will learn basic cake techniques, from preparing pans, perfecting recipes, and carving multiple layers. The course will then transition to more advanced decorating, from crumb coats to fondant. The camp will end with a fun, “Nailed It!” style challenge! In Wok and Roll, it’s all about hands-on fun, tasty creations, and discovering the rich flavors of Asia. Explore the diverse culinary traditions, from Chinese stir-fry and Japanese sushi to Thai noodles. Each day features a different country and its signature dishes. Comics is one of the most popular and exciting ways to tell a story. Students learn to create a genre of comic strips, draw characters developed through their imagination, and plot a storyline for their comic creation. In your role as a L.I.T.E. leader you will be working with and leading small groups of kids from ages 5-11. You will enjoy our hands on science programs while getting community service hours. A Rube Goldberg Machine is a series of chain reactions that make a simple task difficult and often humorous. This workshop presents six simple machines: lever, wedge, wheel and axle, pulley, inclined plane, and screw. Using these simple machines, children design and build a working Rube Goldberg Machine to complete a simple task in the most complicated and silly way possible.

At Athena, we’ve developed a project-based approach to a variety of important topics using Minecraft Educational. Our course will cover personalized game design, animation and storytelling, programming in Python and JavaScript, architecture, and design. Students will learn the fundamentals of electrical circuitry using Minecraft’s patented Redstone circuit system, logic gates, multisystem mechanisms, modding and more. Ever dream of being a firefighter? Well stop dreaming and start doing at the junior fire academy! Participants develop lifelong skills not only learning about emergency preparedness, but also how to work together to accomplish tasks. Taught by professional firefighters, participants learn skills including First Aid, CPR, exit drills, fire extinguisher use, disaster preparedness, and home safety. In addition to the practical skills they can use every day, participants learn what it’s like to be a firefighter by extinguishing fire with fire hoses, proper lifting techniques for moving ladders and hoses, hose management, and they even get to climb the 100-foot-tall ladder!

Our camps are designed for children with or without gymnastics experience and are under the management of excellent coaches, members of the USA Gymnastics Federation. Camp includes gymnastics rotation drills for Floor Exercise, Balance Beam, Uneven Bars, Vault, Trampoline, Dance Time, Outdoor Games and Play. Our campers enjoy the Tumbletrak, Climbing Wall and Foam Pit.
