Sundial was co-commissioned by The Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra (LACO) and Dallas Symphony Orchestra (DSO) for the Baumer Quartet.
The first performance was given by members of LACO at The Huntington Library in San Marino, CA on March 28, 2022.

^^ Almglocken / metal bars must rest on foam for maximum resonance and to limit extraneous rattles.
^^^ Crotales sound two octaves higher than notated.
