ome of the worlds most prized Cabernet's hail from the Bordeaux region in France, zoom in a little bit and within Bordeaux lies a smaller subregion or commune famously known as Margaux. Show up to my door with a bottle of Margaux and you'll be met with an instant invitation to future events and possibly be included to learn my secret handshake. Baron De Brane, the second label of Château Brane-Cantenac turned a challenging year (2012) for Bordeaux wines and produced lovely drink now or age-worthy classic example of French elegance, a striking combination of both beauty and brawn with a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot and 7% Cabernet Franc.

Your eyes are met with a dark lush intense ruby color inviting you to dive right into the aromatic nose of fresh violets, blackberries, and plums. From a Bordeaux's perspective, it's such a young wine with a long life ahead of it but it's vibrant, alive and a well-balanced wine full flavored wine with lots of ripe dark fruit on the palate with round tannins and a clean mild finish. Baron De Brane pairs perfectly with grilled red meats...ahem...Ribeye or perfect for upcoming traditional holiday dishes with lamb, roast beef, veal or even duck. Well made Bordeaux wines, especially Margaux, are the reason sayings like "age like fine wine" have meaning. Drink it now in 2017 or this is one to put away for 10-15 years and by then, Margaux will be ready to tell her secrets...
