during Gulf Print.” The Xerox DocuColour 700 Digital Colour Press delivers outstanding image quality, excellent performance and a range of superb in-line finishing options. Printing at 2400 x 2400 dpi at speeds up to 70 x A4 images per minute, the DC700 colour press is the first true production-capable printer that makes it easy to get started in digital production printing. Central Press, among the first in the Jordan market to install new machinery with up-todate technology, has a clientbase that includes the Ministry of Education of Jordan, the Jordan Board of Tourism, and the Arab Academy of Banking & Financial Sciences.

Giffin Graphics announced that it has sold a DURST RHO 700 printing machine to Maher Daftardar Establishment (MMD) in Saudi Arabia. “This is our second printing machine from DURST. It will be installed at our new production facility which we’re going to open up in Dubai,” said Omar Hitti, Managing Director of MMD. “Our company is based in Saudi Arabia. Among the services we offer are digital printing of display productions and so on. Two months ago, we opened the biggest metal manufacturing plant in the Middle East for permanent and non-permanent display stands,” he added.

Hitti explained, “The DURST RHO 700 can print on various types of media, such as paper, cardboard paper and plastic, and on sizes up to 2.5 meters wide, with high resolution. We selected it because DURST is the leader in this field and it is a heavy duty printing machine. Also, we have two years of experience using DURST machines, and we find the service to be very good.” “The Saudi market has seen a minimum decline in demand on printing. However, this machine gives us more flexibility to use other sorts of material. We cater to various clients in Saudi Arabia, the GCC region and some countries in the Middle East,” he concluded.

I think it is something that will come over here. What you really need is an MIS system to go with the pre-press system.” He added, “On the Muller Martini stitcher, we have the production information coming back into our system. In the real world, we have things like job costing information so you know how many operators
