A NOTE OF GRATITUDE FROM THE EXECUTIVE TEAM OF THE AUSTRALASIAN JOURNAL OF SALVATION ARMY HISTORY
Robert Gordon and Ada Moyles1
The Executive Team of The Australasian journal of Salvation Army history is sad to announce the retirement of Professor R. G. Moyles from the position of peer reviewer. His communication, feedback, and close friendship in relation to the journal will be missed. Moyles has seen the need to relinquish his position due to personal reasons and hopes that younger people will take up and continue the work he has done. Since the commencement of the AJSAH, Moyles has been a great supporter of all we have tried to do. He has sent encouraging emails when he received each issue of the journal and has also supported its work with the contribution of papers. He positively contributed to the AJSAH although he continued his own busy schedule of writing and publishing several Salvation Army history books. When it became obvious that the AJSAH had readers far exceeding the first intended audience of people within the Australasian region, Moyles was happy to join the peer review team. He has not only widened the journal geographically, but also increased the knowledge of publication matters and process. Moyles has contributed greatly with comments and suggestions on many papers and we know that these papers reached a much deeper level because of his input. Moyles has assisted with the peer reviewing for well over a year, which has seen more than three large issues uploaded. He has advised on matters and also suggested ideas that are still being developed. We thank him for his many contributions and the hours of work in reading and sometimes re-reading many of the papers. There will be more papers from Moyles in the coming issues of the journal, which we know our readers will continue to enjoy. We thank Moyles for his support and work in making the journal what it is today. Enjoy your well-earned rest!
