Ultimate Church Visit is a fun, interactive and memorable school visit to your local Salvation Army church.
Through the zones children can explore, with the help of a leader, the history, beliefs, worship and work of The Salvation Army. Activities can include:

Designed and produced by The Salvation Army’s schools team, this resource fits into the curriculum and helps Salvation Army churches support their local primary schools by delivering a fun and educational visit to their church.

Throughout the visit pupils are encouraged to take part in discussions, express their ideas and opinions and reflect on their own values and beliefs. Activities are differentiated for younger and older pupils and workbooks can be provided to help pupils record what they have learnt, or do follow-up work back in the classroom.
Taking part in an Ultimate Church Visit is a great way for primaryaged children to find out about The Salvation Army and to experience faith first-hand by meeting and talking to people who worship and work in their community.

An Ultimate Church Visit can take place during a morning, an afternoon or over a whole day. It works best with one class; however, multiple classes may be able to visit at different times over the course of a week, or at different times throughout the year.

arranging an ultimate church visit If you’re interested in organising an Ultimate Church Visit for your class, here’s what to do: l Get in touch with your local Salvation Army church to discuss the

possibility of organising an Ultimate Church Visit for your class (use the ‘Find a Centre’ facility on our website to find your nearest church). *If it isn’t practical for pupils to visit The Salvation Army, a team may be able to hold an Ultimate Church Visit at your school.
After a welcome session, the class is divided into small groups of about six to eight pupils which travel around a series of zones set up around the church*. The church will normally set up between three and five zones, each of which focuses on a different aspect of The Salvation Army.
