Getting out and about and travelling not only benefits your physical health, but also your mental health. Most of us ‘live to work’ and not ‘work to live.’ Travelling is all about relaxation, rejuvenation, indulgence and escape. You benefit because:
*It helps you feel calm. By exploring a new destination, you release the tension and stress that you have been holding on to.
*It allows you to reset your mental mindset thereby improving your emotional and physical health. You will feel a positive impact on your return. It also improves your mental power.
*It increases your creativity. Going out and about and exploring boosts your creative mind because you are relaxed and see things differently. You are exposed to new culture, scenery, language, cuisine, people and music. Your vision of the world is interpreted in a way that you did not think of!
“How many of us yearn to take a break from the established daily routine, looking exhausted, being stressed, decreased memory function and appetite due to anxiety and changes in attitude and health?”
There are different types of travel, family, solo, group, romance (which is my specialty,) religious, cruises including river cruises and there are many more. However, since the pandemic, another type of travel has come to light and that is medical travel including health and well-being. This is where you travel to a destination for medical purposes, for example medical intervention and wellness treatment, dietary advice and intervention, illness prevention, disease treatment, full body diagnostic examinations and results. Some people may think that the actual planning is frustrating and how can that benefit your health. This is where a travel specialist (Inspirational Travel Plus,) and the health specialist (Salus Medical and Wellness Clinic,) can assist you. We will take away all the stress and anxiety so that you can have a health, relaxed and stress-free getaway. Travel is an investment, not an expense just like our health. So let us combine the two and have a health and wellness as well as a romantic getaway. Like our health, we must nurture and take care of all aspects of our well-being for a lifestyle that benefits us.

Squash? What is Squash you might be asking yourself!
“It is one of the most fantastic sports ever invented!”
I admit this sounds incredibly biased, but it reflects the absolute passion and love that I have developed for the sport. The pleasure attained when training children as young as five years old and active seniors in their 80’s is beyond words. Seeing each group through the life cycles, for recreation as well as for competitions, as they share the common joys of the Squash game is unlike any other sport that I have witnessed.
About The Game of Squash
“Squash is a racquet sport played by two players (or four players for doubles) in a four-walled court with a small, hollow rubber ball. Once the ball is served, players take turns hitting the ball against the front wall, above the tin and below the ‘out line’. Source: https://www.squashrevolution.com”.
“Statistical studies comparing calorie consumption, the risk of injury and the physiological benefits of Squash and other high-impact sports like swimming, rowing and climbing, ranked Squash as the healthiest sport (Forbes, 2021).” I can certainly endorse this finding from my years of experience. My bias has merit!
A trip down memory lane
My introduction to Squash dates back twentysix years ago to Saturday, 21st September 1996. I vividly remember this date as it coincided with my 13th birthday, one of the best days of my life. My parents took me to the Queen’s Park Cricket Club to participate in the Jacko Juniors
Squash Programme. The first day was a phenomenal experience for me primarily due to the excellent coach, coordinator and mentor, Brian Jackson. I fell in love with the game from my first exposure. Brian created an atmosphere of fun and excitement for his juniors, many of whom, like myself, went on to represent Trinidad and Tobago. For me, this experience was the beginning of my career path.

In 2012, I became the National Coach, resuming the position in 2016. I have remained till this date, travelling with both the national junior and senior teams.
Squash has been instrumental in my personal development in countless ways, helping me become more focused in my studies when I was younger. It has opened many doors for me providing opportunities to visit new countries across the globe, including Australia, Bahamas, Barbados, Bermuda, Colombia, Cayman Islands, England, Guyana, Jamaica, Mexico, Peru, St. Vincent, Tortola and the USA. In 2023, I hope to add a few more to this list.
I am committed to coaching Squash recreationally and as part of an exercise routine to individuals of all ages and skill levels, from five to seventy-five years providing a
Why love the Squash sport?
Several reasons exists, with high calorie burner being at the forefront. One can be totally drenched in sweat after 30 minutes of play. I absolutely love the adrenaline rush it gives and the social avenue for developing friendships. Additionally, the sport is indoors, thus, you never have to worry about the weather affecting the ability to play. Rain or shine, I am ready. Are you? You will get hooked…trust me!
I coach Squash every day, and honestly, I do not feel like I work at all. I guess it is true what they say, “if you find a job you love, you will never work a day in your life.” I am in love with the Squash sport! You can be too. WhatsApp or call 770-4114 to begin!
