Every Salpointe team that wins a state championship is enshrined into the Sports Hall of Fame. Being inducted into the Hall of Fame is a lifetime achievement and the highest honor Salpointe can bestow upon a team. We were proud to induct all seven state championship teams this year!
Sports Hall of Fame

Wolfgang Weber, longtime head coach of men’s soccer, is in a league of his own.
After leading the Lancers to their 8th state championship in school history this past spring, Weber notched career victory 699 in the fi nal match of the season. No other soccer coach in Arizona history has eclipsed 500 wins, according to the Arizona Daily Star’s Greg Hansen, yet Weber continues to humbly lead the Lancer program both on and off the pitch. Next season will be Weber’s 40th year coaching at Salpointe.
“I’m just a blessed person to have this great group of kids and a great coaching staff,” Weber said following the team’s 5-1 victory in the state championship. “It’s all about the team.”

Thank You, Athletic Trainers
Salpointe’s Sports Hall of Fame was founded in 1993 with the purpose of recognizing and honoring great student-athletes and championing individuals who have motivated others to set lofty goals, foster pride, preserve sportsmanship and encourage scholarship and good citizenship.
The next Sports Hall of Fame Induction will be held in fall 2022. The deadline to submit a nomination is January 10, 2022. Visit www.salpointe.org/shf to submit a nomination.

Salpointe’s athletic trainers, John Valencia and Elyse Abbott ’06, worked tirelessly throughout the year to keep our student-athletes safe and healthy during the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition to their work on campus, Mr. Valencia and Ms. Abbott aided the Tucson community by performing antibody testing. Salpointe is grateful for their leadership and the care they give our student-athletes every day!
Junior Athletes of the Year
