Issue 10 May 2013 Wow – we are nearly there. Final preparations are being made to the BIG DAY – and what promises to be the highlight of the year. The entertainment lineup is amazing, there are new and exciting rides, enough variety of food and drink to satisfy all, the Cent Auction which is offering an amazing array of prizes, and stalls that have a wide variety of choices. And if you haven’t bought your ticket in the Major Raffle, it is not too late. The prizes being offered are fabulous and are well worth the price of $3 price for a ticket. The value of first prize is $ 3,900.00 thanks to Spicers Retreats, Hotels and Resorts. Cash sales Will be available at JS bus shelter before school Monday 13 May. Volunteers Volunteer request forms are being distributed with each Fete Newsletter. If you are interested in volunteering for a particular stall or helping out in any way, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Jolien Hornsey by email at fete@salc.qld.edu.au Donations Donations now accepted in bus shelter every day of the week. If you haven’t had the time to send any donations in, here is a reminder of what we need to help ensure the Fete is a huge success: Food Stalls We still need • 3 x BBQ’s for Fete day. Can you lend your BBQ ? • Donations of Rice and Vegetables for our Thai food stall. If you can help with any of the above items, contact Julie Catherwood on 0405 533 725. Crazy Hair Stall We still need Accessories, clips, hair extensions, headbands, bobby pins, combs, feathers.....Let your imagination run wild. Chocolate Chocolate donations have started to come in but we need more to meet the target. Bars, blocks, mini bars, mini eggs, packets of freddo’s - any chocolate will do. We promise we won’t eat it. Check the choco meter in the bus shelter to see how we are going. Lucky Dips Small toys, Lollies, match box cars, stickers, tattoos, again let your imagination go wild.


Soft Toys for Teddy Town Any clean soft toys welcome, We will re home them for you.

Plants The Middle/Senior Creative Writing Group is again running the Plant Stall.

Gift ware Anything at home that you are not using but is good to give away. Now’s your chance to clear some space and allow new things to come into your life. Candles, photo frames, gorgeous lovely gifty and crafty kind of things are all welcome for the Gift ware and Craft stall.

We would love it if anyone has any spare pots (any size will do) or potting mix, or even plants would be a great to help our stall. We can store plants here at school. Or you can save them till the week before then drop them in. Please organize a time for drop off at school (outside the room next to the uniform shop please) with Debby Burnell or if you have any enquiries please call 55685900 or email debbyb@salc.qld.edu.au

Vouchers Myer, DJ’s, Coles, Woolies etc, they will all help and would be wonderful. We would love to see you at our next meeting! The next scheduled meeting’s will be held on each Cake Stall Thursday leading up to the Fete starting at 1.30pm in the Get your baking brains beaming and pop the ingredients Junior School Staffroom. So if you are free on the 9th, onto your shopping lists. Cake boxes will go out the week 16th or 23rd of May please come along. before the Fete to be filled with fabulous home baked goodies. St Andrews Lutheran College Fete Saturday 25th May, 2013 Volunteer Form The Fete is approaching fast. We are less than 3 weeks away from the Big Day and most stalls still need many volunteers! Please donate some of your time to make the Fete a success. There are opportunities for you to get involved with: 1- stalls on the day 2- receiving art (20 -22nd May) and set up (Friday 24th May) 3- clean up (Sunday 26th May) You are of course welcome to volunteer for all 3 options! but any involvement is greatly appreciated.
