Even if you’re little you can do a lot.You mustn’t let a little thing like little stop you. Matlida
Over the past few years I have rediscovered the joy of Roald Dahl through reading his catalogue to my son at bedtime. From The Witches, George’s Marvellous Medicine to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, I love how it is always the children in the stories who are our heroes. Matilda of course is no different as it revels in the anarchy of childhood, the power of imagination and the inspiring story of a very special little girl who dreams of a better life.
We won’t forget the day we fought for the right to be a little bit naughty
Matilda’s Class
I am incredibly proud of the young people in this cast – who have worked so hard to bring this story to the stage. I would also like to thank our older students for using this opportunity to mentor and support our younger performers. We are so fortunate as an E – 12 Department to be able to work collaboratively across sub schools and to connect through creativity all way the way up the hill. In particular I would like to acknowledge Phoebe Rogers, Adelaide Levey and Dexter Ryan who assisted with the choreography throughout the rehearsal period. A production of this scale is always a team effort and the result of many staff giving of their time, energy and creativity because we all believe in the value of this experience and in the memories they make for our young people. Thank you as always to our incomparable Arts Family – Paula, OG, Kristine, Lauren, Georgia, Jam, Anne, Mardi, Nick, Caed, Will, Sam and Leilani.
