Our Story Saint Ignatius’ College is a strong community steeped in more than 73 years of learning and growth. This vibrant college is part of a global network of Jesuit schools and universities, drawing upon 500 years of innovative educational practices. Learning and teaching at Saint Ignatius’ College promotes a culture of intellectual rigour and high academic standards.
We are a Catholic school deeply embedded in the Jesuit tradition and committed to forming young people who look beyond themselves. Our nurturing environment is focused on developing strong character for a better world and a faith that promotes justice. The College’s philosophy of education embraces the fast-paced digital era, emphasising the importance of instilling confidence, wisdom, agility, excellence, and joy in our students.
Our Strategic Plan is a testament to this commitment, aiming to continuously evolve to meet the changing needs of the world. Saint Ignatius’ College is dedicated to holistic development, intertwining growth in spirit, joy in learning, understanding of self and others and guided by the Jesuit principle of cura personalis (care for the whole person).
As a vibrant, co-educational college, it offers students real-world experiences, nurturing their wellbeing and fostering a strong sense of community and belonging. The College’s approach to education is underpinned by deep faith, imagination, reflection, discernment, and respect for diversity, ensuring each student achieves excellence in learning.
Present Saint
Ignatius’ College is stronger than ever, well positioned for an exciting and promising future.
As we embark on this phase of strategic planning, we acknowledge the growing uncertainties in the world around us. Through robust governance and leadership, our College has established a solid foundation for sustained growth to navigate our future.
The advent of technologies, global challenges, and unforeseeable events underscores the necessity for our College to not only preserve this foundation but also embrace agility to respond to the coming changes.
Looking Ahead
Saint Ignatius’ College is on an ambitious journey with its Strategic Plan for 2024–2028, which aims to integrate Jesuit mission and Ignatian spirituality into modern contexts while continuing to innovate to optimise the development of young people.
The Strategic Plan is the result of deep consultations with students, staff, parents, governance, and members of our community, reviewing key pillars of learning, student wellbeing, co-curricular activities, and mission. This process has equipped the College to enhance and invigorate the future with fresh, forward-thinking ideas that will greatly benefit students in their lives beyond the College.
