Dear Parents and Pupils, A busy penultimate week before the half-term break, started with an uplifting Lower School Harvest Service at our local church, St Mary’s, on Monday. Our pupils from Reception through to Year 5, showcased their artistic skills and performed harvest poetry, songs and raps with gusto, which was a delight to see and hear. During the service, I spoke about the importance of not taking the food we eat for granted and that our celebration of those who provide, prepare and produce the food we eat, should not be limited to a once-ayear event. To quote 'Anon', 'Harvest is a time of togetherness and gratitude, which should be celebrated daily.' On Tuesday, we celebrated World Mental Health Day and I was delighted to see so many pupils wearing yellow socks, tops, ties and hair accessories to mark the day. Raising awareness of the mental health issues that young people face is so important in our efforts to drive change, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all in our community who supported the day. My thanks also to Mrs Thomas, Mrs Martin and Mrs Howe for all the organisation that made the day such a success.
