DRONE CONTROL SYSTEMS Shortly after finding a prime base of operations in Sahuarita, Drone Control Systems (DCS) found the perfect partner to launch a pilot project. Joining forces with the Town of Sahuarita Police Department, DCS provided the software technology to launch the Local Area Drone Dispatch and Authorization System. The partnership allows Sahuarita police to deploy drones to situations in advance of sending officers or emergency responders. Drone Control Systems is now positioned to provide software systems for unmanned aircraft that comply with regulations governing the use of drones while ensuring that operators can still have the freedom to fly.

HYDRONALIX Hydronalix develops robotic lifesaving vehicles used in maritime emergencies. It has found a home in the high desert of Southern Arizona. Founded in 2009, Hydronalix will be among the first tenants in Sahuarita’s future Advanced Manufacturing Technology Center, a 32,000-square-foot facility that is expected to be open for business in 2019. Riding the success of E.M.I.L.Y. – a remote controlled motorized floatation device formally known as the EMergency Integrated Lifesaving lanYard – Hydronalix now employs a dozen high-wage workers, including scientists and electrical engineers. The firm uses Arizona-manufactured parts and components and sells its products in Europe, Asia and South America as well as domestically.

CONTROL VISION, INC. Control Vision, Inc. was born a home-based start-up in Sahuarita, then grew to a successful small business with help from the right partners. A cutting-edge optics firm started by a military veteran, Control Vision Inc. (CVI) has parlayed partnerships with the University of Arizona Optical Sciences Center and the Town of Sahuarita into a growing venture that has successfully developed and deployed optical and control systems for defense and scientific use. The three-year-old business now employs ten highly-skilled and well-paid staff members, and also benefits from proximity to Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Raytheon Missile Systems and other defense and technology firms in Southern Arizona.
