HOW TO REGISTER

Classes and programs, unless noted, are available for registration at www.sahuaritaaz.gov/ParksandRec or in person at Anamax Recreation Center, 17501 S. Camino de las Quintas, Mon.-Fri. 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Classes are held at Anamax Recreation Center unless noted. Find us on Facebook and our website for new program information, cancellations and promotions. Call us at 520-445-7850. Registration deadlines are the Friday prior to the start of the program unless noted.

YOUTH / TEEN

Cooking Participants will learn food safety, kitchen etiquette, and how to prepare a variety of food. Classes vary in content each month.

Apr. 24 • Quail Creek - Veterans Municipal Park • 5 p.m. Join the Southern Arizona Arts & Cultural Alliance (SAACA) and the Town of Sahuarita for a festive, community celebration of Mexican culture, spirits, and food. Experience the Sabor-tasty at this family-friendly celebration with hearty samples from a number of local restaurants, main stage music, dance, and more. This is a ticketed event. Love to dance but hate to exercise? Dance Cardio is a lowimpact class that combines easy-to-follow dance moves along with light-weight cardio routines.

FiTBody A mix of basic, full-body fitness elements that include interval and circuit training along with body sculpting, cardio dance and mat science.

Hatha Yoga Practicing yoga provides strength, stamina, flexibility and relaxation. Learn to deal with stress, be content, and be grateful, living in the moment. All levels of students are welcome.

Pilates Plus Practice controlled exercises that engage the mind and condition the body. Blending strength and flexibility training improves posture, reduces stress and creates long, lean muscles without the bulk.

Senior Cardio Boxing Specifically for active adults. Focus on hand-eye coordination, balance, rhythm and fitness. Ask the instructor how this class may help minimize symptoms associated with Parkinson’s disease.

Sit Be Fit Body Exercise program for older adults and anyone needing slow, gentle, and safe effective exercises.

Stability Ball Strength

Provides core strengthening for posture, mobility, balance and tone. Students must bring a stability ball.

Zumba®

A fitness class with a fun, party-like atmosphere filled with music and dance movements to tone and sculpt the body. A blend of cardio and muscle-toning movements.


Sports FUNdamentals Learn fundamental skills of sports. Clinic-style program will prepare participants for organized leagues. Parent participation and encouragement required.
