Once selected, students will be required to attend regular meetings to discuss topics, participate in classroom educational lessons, and perform community service as a part of the program’s mission and vision during the school year. Math Olympiads, MOEMS
Grades: 4th - 5th
MOEMS aims to foster a love for mathematics by introducing key concepts, innovative problemsolving strategies, and developing creativity and intuition. MOEMS offers engaging contests from November through March featuring unique problems and detailed solutions. These contests provide a stimulating and rewarding experience, significantly enhancing students' problem-solving skills and deepening their appreciation for mathematics.

Student Council

The Student Council is a representative body of students elected by their peers. Its primary purpose is to give young students a voice and a platform to participate actively in the decisionmaking process within their school community The student council allows students to express their ideas, concerns, and suggestions, fostering a sense of ownership and responsibility in shaping their school's environment. Student Council members often organize and lead various events, fundraisers, and initiatives to improve the school experience for all students. Through their involvement in the student council, students learn valuable leadership skills, teamwork, and the importance of civic engagement from an early age. Beginning in 3rd grade, students may serve as class representatives. Fourth-grade students may choose to run for the office of vice president or treasurer. Fifth-grade students may decide to run for the office of president, secretary, or historian. Meetings are held on the third Wednesday of every month.

Safety Patrol: Grades: 4th - 5th
The Safety Patrol program is designed to promote safety and responsibility among elementary school students. The safety patrol members are responsible for assisting their peers during arrival and dismissal times, as well as ensuring orderly conduct in hallways and on campus. They serve as role models by exhibiting proper behavior and emphasizing the importance of following rules to ensure the well-being of all students. By participating in the Safety Patrol, students not only gain a sense of leadership and community service but also contribute to a secure and organized school environment. This program instills values of accountability and teamwork while fostering a culture of safety awareness within the school community. All 4th-5th students will have the opportunity to participate in Safety Patrol Registration not needed.
Monty's Morning Show Grades: 4th - 5th
All 4th and 5th grade students participate in Monty's Morning Show program. The show is broadcast live each day throughout all grade levels. As the show's leaders, students are responsible for all aspects of the production, including digital set design, lights, scripts, writing, etc Students collaborate to write the daily script, provide technical support, and act as news anchors. Monty's Morning Show is a fun and powerful way for students to participate in leadership roles and share their positive school values with peers. All 4th-5th students will have the opportunity to participate in Monty's Morning Show. Registration is not needed.
Flag Duty Grades: 3rd
Elementary flag duty involves a group of students who take on the responsibility of raising and lowering the American flag at the beginning and end of each school day. This duty holds a symbolic significance as the flag represents the unity and values of the nation. Students who are selected for flag duty are seen as respectful and responsible individuals, entrusted with the task of handling the flag with care and adhering to proper flag etiquette This duty not only instills a sense of patriotism and pride in the students but also teaches them about the importance of honoring national symbols and participating in civic responsibilities from a young age. National Elementary Honor Society, N.E.H.S. Grade Levels: 4th - 5th
The purpose of this reputable organization is to recognize students for their outstanding academic achievement and personal responsibility, to provide service to the school and community, and to develop leadership skills in the students of elementary schools. Membership in a local chapter is an honor bestowed upon a student. Selection for membership is by a faculty council and is based on outstanding scholarship and responsibility. Once selected, members are responsible for continuing to demonstrate these qualities and participating in chapter activities to build experience and improve skills in leadership and service. Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of every month. N.E.H.S. is by invitation only.

This year, we're excited to introduce Cubs Table Talk for our 4th and 5th-grade leaders a talkshow-style speaker series where students take the lead. In collaboration with our Head of School, Ms. Nelson, these young leaders will develop questions that explore our speakers' journeys, focusing on the drive, grit, and passion that have fueled their success in various areas of life. This program offers our students a unique chance to ask insightful questions, reflect on their own paths, and find inspiration for the future. Selection for the Cubs Table Talk crew involves an application and interview process, with applications opening in September. The application will open in September.

Sagemont Prep Show Choir
Grades 3 -5
Show Choir uses movement and costumes with a thematic idea, with music ranging from pop to show tunes. It is a musical ensemble that combines choral singing with choreographed dancing, often with an overarching theme. Students are exposed to music and theatre in a fun and interactive way, and props and costumes during rehearsal time make it even more exciting. Students perform and are the main leads during the Winter and Spring seasons with additional Show Choir specific performances. We attend city events, field trips, in-school presentations, and yearly events. Students develop techniques in acting, singing, sight reading, blending, stage presence, choreographies, improvisation, and more during class. Teachers work hand in hand with the students and parents, and students learn how to work individually and collaboratively.

The Real Food Academy
Grades Kindergarten - 5th Grade
The Real Food Academy Chef shows the students how to create dishes based on our slogan, “Keep it Real at Every Meal,” and have a good understanding of the topics listed: Processed foods vs. natural foods, proper food handling, and the proper use of cooking and kitchen utensils. Every week, we meet and participate in a hands-on class. Students will learn how to properly execute the dishes on the scheduled menu and taste their creations. Our most important message in this course is that food made from scratch is more fun, delicious, and nutritious Some sample menus include freshly made pasta, pancakes, waffles, vanilla zucchini cupcakes, and more!

Little Veterinarian School Sea Turtle

Is your kid a future marine biologist? In this after-school enrichment program, kids will learn how to perform a physical exam of a sea turtle, how to combat injuries on sea turtles, learn about the ocean and its inhabitants, and create models of the ocean, marine animals, and tools. They will receive their own plushie patient to take on the role of a veterinarian. Students will work together as a class to rescue, rehabilitate, and "release" our plushie Leatherback sea turtles. We will finish with the "sea turtle release" as the students graduate and receive a personalized Little Medical School diploma!

Hello, future healthcare hero! In this after-school enrichment program, kids will learn how to perform a head-to-toe exam on a newborn, how to perform the infant Heimlich maneuver, what are safe sleeping practices for babies, childhood immunizations, and more. They will receive their own plushie baby patient and white coats to take on the role of a pediatrician. We celebrate with an informal graduation ceremony at the end of the program where kids will receive a personalized Little Medical School diploma!

Do you have a future veterinarian in the making? In this after-school enrichment program, kids will learn how to perform a nose-to-tail exam, learn about the foods dogs cannot eat and practice making doggie treats, how to suture lacerations dogs can get from accidents or surgery, learn what ticks are and how to safely remove them, create "medicine" to give their plushie patients in the form of immunizations, explore the roles of different team members in a veterinary clinic, and more They will receive their own plushie dog patient and white coats to take on the role of a veterinarian.

Little Nutrition School
Does your kid like to talk about food? In this after-school enrichment program, kids will learn about healthy eating habits, the food pyramid, and global foods through our nutrition workbook "Asha’s Magical Ride".
