Ten years ago this week, I left the comfort of my role with Hutchinson Builders and embarked on a journey that would become SafeAssure Pty Ltd. Starting a new venture wasn’t easy, but looking back, I’m incredibly proud of how far we ’ ve come From humble beginnings to growing our team and expanding our services, this journey has been marked by challenges, learning, and plenty of hard work
I want to especially thank my wife, Katie and four kids, who have been by my side through it all. Your support and the time we ’ ve sacrificed together have made this business possible, and I’m forever grateful.
I also want to thank everyone who’s been part of this incredible adventure our clients, partners, and especially the SafeAssure team Your dedication and trust have shaped our success and inspired me every day
What amazes and excites me most is the opportunities that lay ahead The amazing people our team are yet to meet and help, and the lives we will change for the better. As we continue to grow, we strive everyday to keep people safe, keep companies compliant and help protect everyone who has duties under the relevant legislation.
Here’s to the next chapter and continuing to make a difference
Gareth Davies, Managing Director - SafeAssure

Team prepbefore ourAuditorshitthe road!

At the end of May 2024 the SafeAssure team gathered together to gear up for the upcoming round of COEX audits! (see smiling image on the left)
Container Exchange (COEX) is a not-for-profit entity appointed by the Queensland Government to administer the Containers for Change scheme, a key initiative aimed at reducing waste and promoting recycling across Queensland
SafeAssure was engaged to conduct a comprehensive WHSE audit of all sites operated by COEX's network of contracted Operators in 2024.
This massive project ran from 01 June - 05 August and the SafeAssure team audited 333 sites in just 9 weeks and 1 day across Queensland - covering many parts of this beautiful state from North to South and East to West
The success of this massive project relies heavily on the hard work and dedication of our auditors, as well as seamless logistics coordination. A big shoutout to our amazing team for setting the criteria and planning the routes to ensure we had a strong start to this important initiative The auditors eagerly hit the road, visited many operators and enjoyed connecting with the supportive communities that make this program possible Whilst this was a packed and tight schedule, it was, once again, an amazing achievement by the team and they enjoyed meeting many wonderful people throughout their travels around the state. Please enjoy just a few of the images from their journey.

Queensland's Minister for State Development and Infrastructure, Minister for Industrial Relations, and Minister for Racing, The Honourable Grace Grace, has declared a significant change affecting the industry: the cessation of all engineered stone work starting July 1, 2024
✅ Cease Work with Engineered Stone: From 1 July 2024 all work related to engineered stone, including manufacturing, supply, processing, and installation of benchtops, panels, and slabs, must halt, regardless of prior contractual agreements.
✅ Safety is Paramount: The ban is enacted to safeguard worker health, addressing serious risks associated with engineered stone work, such as silicosis. Like asbestos, legacy engineered stone work will be permitted under stringent safety measures
✅ Compliance is Essential: Businesses operating in the industry must adhere to the ban without exception. Failure to comply with safety protocols poses significant risks to workers' health and could result in legal ramifications.
✅ Review Operations: Evaluate current practices to ensure compliance with the ban. Identify any ongoing work with engineered stone and make necessary arrangements to cease operations.
✅Implement Safety Measures: For businesses dealing with legacy engineered stone, stringent safety protocols must be enforced to mitigate health risks Consult industry experts and regulatory guidelines to establish comprehensive safety measures. It’s crucial for industry stakeholders to take proactive steps to comply with the ban on engineered stone work.
SafeAssure is committed to assisting businesses in meeting regulatory requirements and safeguarding worker health Contact us today at admin@safeassurecomau to ensure your organisation is complying with this pivotal industry change.

This is the fashion wardrobe he was issued with! Apparently his first biscuit purchase was considered ‘lightweight’ compared to what others usually buy
