PLANNING
SAA’s planners collaborate with communities in building and preserving vibrant, healthy, and sustainable places. Our process focuses on helping communities preserve and enhance their unique resources to achieve economically sustainable, aesthetically pleasing, socially dynamic, and ecologically sound places. Through sound planning today, we help create and maintain a high quality of life for current and future generations.
ENGINEERING Our engineering design is proactive, and our attitude is focused
on engineering a quality of life for a more livable community. At SAA, engineering is integrated into the design of projects as they evolve rather than driving the design process or following in its aftermath. Our engineers engage both public sector and private clients, as well as providing technical design support for our designers and planners.
URBAN DESIGN SAA’s urban designers create vibrant and successful public and private places by improving the identity, vitality, visual character, and economic climate of urban districts in our communities. Our philosophy and approach to design is based upon an integrated, consensus-based design and planning process that includes basic tools of research, inventory and analysis, alternative formulation, cost benefit analysis, and implementation strategies. SITE DESIGN
SAA is dedicated to creating functional and expressive environments for corporations, businesses, public and private institutions, and parks and open spaces. Our design staff is comprised of landscape architects and civil engineers dedicated to creating unique identity for each site, balancing the needs for use and marketplace success with environmental sensitivity and visual appeal. We lead the design development process from master planning to construction documents and through implementation.
LAND USE SAA’s land use staff includes landscape architects, land planners, community planners and civil engineers. We create places to live, work, and recreate; with high regard for quality of life and sustainability of the environment. We encourage preservation of vistas, introduction of public art, accessible and varied open spaces, innovative stormwater management, connectivity to the surrounding community, planning for alternative means of transportation, and conservation of existing natural features.
