PACKING WELLFARE

E BOXES | 5/7/2022

The wellfare boxes event gave me a chance to work with others to better my cooperation skills. We helped unload and pack 300 boxes filled with healthy snacks, foods, and beverages. Seeing all the boxes packed and ready to be shipped to people in need, made me feel as though I made a difference. I felt proud of myself and others that were involved after seeing the end result of our hard work. - Vickie Vien

RONALD MCDONALD

HOUSE | 5/7/2022

Ronald McDonald House was an incredible and unique experience. I always cook for my little sister and cooking in this bigger kitchen for someone's sister, brother, mom, or dad is a feeling that can never be replicated. We also saw many of the families that were living in the house, I'm glad a place like this exists. A happy place where kids can be with their families in their hardest times. - Lia Li

JAPAN DAY

| 5/7/2022

Japan day was one of those events that I wanted to participate in ever since i first saw pictures of it during my freshman year and I’m so glad I finally got the chance this year. As hectic as it might of been with all the rain and sailor moon music on replay, I still enjoyed every last moment of it especially the bento box we got at the end. As I run around handing out flags, I see so many people dressed up in Japanese traditional clothes and I just watch in awe as they pass by. I really like Japanese’s culture so it was wonderful to spend a full day surrounded by all the different aspects that make up Japanese culture, from the food and clothings to the music and dance. - Myra Lin

1ST ASIAN PAC HERITAGE PAR

IFIC AMERICAN ADE | 5/15/2022

Although on the day of the AAPI parade, it was extremely hot, the fun and diversity of the parade made up for the heat. Walking past all the floats and seeing all the different cultures made me realize how little I know about the world and made me want to know more. All the different dances and songs were so entertaining and I enjoyed helping the people there. The job was very tiring, but worth every second of my time. I will definitely go back next year :) - Chere Hong

CARNIVAL |

5/20/2022 The 2022 Carnival was one of the most memorable events during the school year. The carnival started off well as everyone started to attended each booth. However, midway into the carnival, it started to pour. Even though it was raining heavily, some of the booths, especially key club, continued to attend the customers. - Edward Son

LUNG FORCE WALK

NYC | 5/21/2022

On May 21st, I attended the Lung Force Walk. It was extremely sunny that day and we were late because of Ewen :p Nevertheless, we had a lot of fun at the event. There were many booths with different activities such as word searches, balloons, and free food! There was also live music which made it so much more enjoyable. Even though it was so hot, many of us were able to come together and walk in support. It made my experience unforgettable. - Ziyi Feng

QPL OUTDOOR PRO

JECT | 5/21/2022 I had a great experience at the QPL project event. It was a great opportunity for me to help the environment and also learn many new things on the way. Although it was very hot that day, I had a lot of fun pulling the invasive plants out and also planting the new plants that were environmentally friendly in their place. A lot of people showed up to help and it was a great way to meet new friends. The instructors were very helpful and they taught us about the different plants and how to fully pull out the roots of the invasive plant so that they don’t regrow. - Tina Dong

MEMORIAL DA LITTLE NECK

Y PARADE AT | 5/30/2022 My experience at the memorial day parade at Little neck was wonderful. We helped set up tents, chairs, tables, unpack water cases and so much more. Despite the sunny day it was a great way to have fun on our free day while being able to thank veterans for their service. With our hard work also came fun breaks with friends and key clubbers as a whole, making the event more memorable. We would love for more key clubbers to come and join us in upcoming events! - Norma Flores
