Charity Fun Day in Memory of Mark Hill Many readers will recognise our photo of Mark Hill. Sadly, Mark died last year aged just 55 years. His wife Jackie and son Nathan are organising a Charity Fun Day in his memory on Saturday 11 June 11am – 5pm at Greens Road in North Walsham.
Mark was a North Walsham boy all his life, son of Nigel and Daphne Hill. His great passion was football - for three consecutive years he ran the North Walsham Angels Football Team for ages 8 – 11 years, who Jackie says ‘became our football family’.
Mark was also a devoted Norwich City fan. He and Nathan went regularly to Carrow Road to cheer on The Yellows from the Jarrold stand, very special father and son times.
Mark worked at the RAF Coltishall and when the base closed, Mark became a self-employed gardener and also part-time

Jackie continues “this was a really special quality about Mark - he would always listen and help where and when he could and ultimately this is what this Fun Day is about. It was Nathan's idea, because when Mark was 50 we did a surprise football party at Greens Road where the Lads took on their Dads. It was a fabulous day and one we said we wished to repeat - but please without the air ambulance and a player with a broken leg! It is those same North Walsham lads that Mark trained as youngsters, who are playing for the North Walsham side in his memory - a wonderful tribute.
