2014 Cromer Carnival Royal Family is selected

Earlier this month Cromer Carnival hosted the last of it Royal Family competitions, choosing their Junior Attendants and Prince and Princess to join Miss Cromer and her Senior Attendant.

Last month trainee chef Hayley Massingham was named Miss Cromer. 18 year old Hayley from Cromer will lead the town’s annual celebrations this August with Erin Holroyd, 17, from Aldborough, as her Senior Attendant.

On Friday 2 May, The Cottage hosted the ever-popular Junior Attendants competition which saw 17 entrants on the night. The competition was won by Allyse Cook aged 13 and Tasmin Beshir aged 12, both from Cromer.

On Sunday 4 May, The Community Hall hosted the Prince & Princess competition which was attended by over 30 entrants and their families.

After a long judging process the competition was won by Sol Rivett aged 7 from Cromer and Hannah Muirhead aged 7 from Cromer.

The Royal Family will feature heavily in the Cromer Carnival week which runs 16-22 August.

Organiser Michelle Hedge said “I'm thrilled with how well attended all three competitions were and I think the judges have done an amazing job, albeit exceptionally tough this year. We are thrilled to welcome Hayley, Erin, Allyse, Tasmin, Hannah and Sol to the Carnival team.” Carnival Chairman Tony Shipp said “I would like to thank all the entrants who attended the competitions this year and for supporting the Carnival. I am looking forward to working alongside this year’s ‘Royals`. They are one of our youngest groups of ‘Royals’ and I am sure they will do a great job of representing both the Cromer Carnival and the town of Cromer.”
