Armed Forces Day Cromer

Saturday 29 June 2013 10am – 4.30pm Free Admission Community Hall, Garden Street Cromer

All are welcome to this, our fourth commemoration of Armed Forces Day, which gives us an opportunity to do two things. Firstly to raise public awareness of the contribution made to our country by those who serve and have served in Her Majesty’s Armed Forces. Secondly, it gives the nation an opportunity to show its support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community, no matter where they are serving in the world.

There will be representatives from many ex service organisations including The Royal Naval Association, REME, RAF and local branches of the Royal British Legion and Women’s section RBL. We hope to have locally serving army and RAF personnel with us and Army cadets and ATC.

There will be displays of army uniforms and equipment through the ages together with a large parade of antique Britain’s lead soldiers, portraying the pre 1914 full dress uniform of the army. We also hope to have a military vehicle or two outside the hall and relics from the Great War on display.

Refreshments at minimum cost will be provided by the Women’s section RBL Cromer.

A local school are participating in designing a poster for Armed Forces Day and the winners will be announced at the opening ceremony.

The exhibition will open at 9.30am and close about 4.30pm. All are welcome!
