This one day conference will address strategies and approaches regarding healthy eating and physical activity in children and youth, and will emphasize the importance of “starting early� by increasing awareness and understanding of the connection between the environment, policy and health.

A choice of four workshops will be available to suit your particular area(s) of interest. Workshop speakers will discuss the issues, present the latest research and oer solutions for parents, child care providers, teachers, health care providers, counselors, and all caring adults who work with children and youth.

New Jersey Institute of Food, Nutrition and Health The mission of the New Jersey Institute of Food, Nutrition and Health is to make New Jersey not just the Garden State, but also, the Healthy State. The Institute will be a global center for academic excellence. Recognizing that many adult diseases have their origins in childhood, tapping into nutritional genomics, the Institute will focus on “pre-emptive nutrition” and “social-environmental” strategies to address obesity and obesity-related disorders.
