Halloween in the USA!
What is Halloween?! • Holiday celebrated on October 31st • People go – Trick-or-Treating – dress up in costumes – carve Jack-o-lanterns – go bobbing for apples – visit haunted houses and corn fields.
Trick-or-Treating • “Trick or Treat!” • Children go from house to house, knocking on doors to receive candy.
Halloween Costumes… • At schools, work and at parties, people dress up for Halloween. Often times there will be a Halloween costume contest and winners get a prize. • Costumes range from the Outrageous to scary to funny!
Carving Jack-o-lanterns • People like to carve (cut) pumpkins up and place candles inside. • Designs range from really complex to very simple. • First you carve open the top. • Scoop out the insides. • Then carve the face. • Place a candle inside!
Corn Maze… • People like to visit Pumpkin Patches to choose their pumpkins and go through corn mazes. • It’s a lot of fun to get lost!
Haunted Houses‌ Visiting a Haunted House is a fun and scary way to celebrate Halloween
Bobbing For Apples‌
This is a fun thing to do at Halloween Parties! You simply put your head in a bucket of water and try to get an apple in your mouth.
