Our organisation adheres to ISO standards and we enforce strict rules to ensure guest safety and environmental protection. • Nitrox may only be used by those holding the PADI Enriched Air Nitrox certification or equivalent.

• Solo diving is allowed at Marsa Nakari house reef. Solo divers must show their certification, be cleared to dive alone by the base leader or PADI Self Reliant instructor on site, and sign the appropriate paperwork in the diving center. Otherwise all diving must be undertaken in buddy pairs.

• Only divers holding CMAS 3*, PADI Deep Diver specialty, or CMAS 2* divers under direct supervision of an instructor are permitted to dive past 30m. Technical divers are also permitted.

Further treatment is chargeable and hospitalisation or emergency transportation is not covered. The doctors at Baromedical can also treat a variety of other issues and are available for consultation if a diver answers ‘Yes’ to any questions on the PADI liability form.

• Dehydration is the number one cause of stomach ache/sickness. Keeping hydrated is easy to avoid by drinking less alcohol and caffeinated beverages, and increasing water intake. Consumption of any alcoholic beverages before diving is strictly prohibited.

In general, English language will be used when giving instruction or dive briefings. The Marsa Nakari team also have extensive language skills including Italian, French, German and Arabic and PADI materials can be provided in other languages with advanced notice.

DIVING PROGRAM

Marsa Nakari is situated on a natural bay with sandy bottom, with coral reef extending to the North and South. Inside the bay is shallow (1-10m) with depths gradually reaching 4050m on the outside reefs.

Six diving profiles are offered on the house reef: out by shore and back by shore, out by zodiac and back by shore, or out by zodiac and back by zodiac. Zodiacs are available at any time during daylight hours (times depending on the season) and can be arranged for night dives one day in advance.

House Reef diving is charged per day on an unlimited basis for all divers with a minimum of PADI Open Water certification or equivalent. This includes air, weights and unlimited use of the house reef from the shore or by zodiac. Two orientation dives are offered on the first diving day. The first orientation dive is mandatory, the second is optional but is only offered on the first day. A weight check and easy, shore-entry first dive is still highly recommended.
