Diving by Zodiac: Our diving program includes up to 4 dives per day, including 2 offshore morning dives plus an unguided local afternoon dive and unguided night dive on our house reef (where authorities allow).
ACTIVITIES
SCUBA DIVING
Our PADI 5* Resorts offer a range of PADI courses for kids (aged 8+) and adults. Learn to dive with us, continue to develop your recreational diving skills, or even embark on a scuba diving career by taking PADI Pro courses with our resident Course Director at our 5* IDC Center, Marsa Nakari.
Technical Diving: We offer Technical diving courses with our TDI and PADI TecRec instructors, as well as guided and unguided technical dives. We can also accommodate certified CCR divers in Marsa Shagra.
Each of our villages has a unique diving program for certified divers to maximise the diving opportunities in the region. Whether you want to dive independently on our house reefs or explore the off-shore reefs, there is something for everyone.
Marsa Shagra is the only diving centre in the Southern Red Sea with an on-site hyperbaric chamber.
SNORKELING & FREE DIVING
Our protected house reefs are perfect for relaxed snorkeling and free diving, as well as more advanced free diving training. Our resident instructors offer free diving courses through both PADI and AIDA, along with personalized training sessions and guided snorkeling and free diving excursions outside the house reef. Free diving groups are welcome to use our facilities and equipment independently or under the supervision of our team.
YOGA
Our dedicated Yoga Shala, guided by our resident instructor, offers an ideal space for your yoga practice. Whether you’re an experienced yogi or a complete beginner, you are welcome to join our daily classes at your own pace and level. We host workshops and retreats throughout the year, while also welcoming yoga groups to use our space and equipment. For group retreats, we are happy to recommend complete programs complemented by additional activities for an unforgettable experience.
KITE SURFING
Wadi Lahami Kitesurfing Center offers an intimate and welcoming experience. The bay is large but quiet and private with a sandy bottomed lagoon directly in front of the beach, ideal for launching and landing kites at all levels. Unlike many other Red Sea kite spots which have become overcrowded, Wadi Lahami is secluded and private, letting you ride in total peace on the turquoise waters, before chilling out at the Yellow Penguin bar at the end of the day.
DESERT EXCURSIONS & CULTURAL ACTIVITIES
Embark on a cultural journey with our native Bedouin tribe, the “Ababda”, as they guide you through the breathtaking landscape of the Eastern Desert by 4x4, camel, or horse. These authentic, specialized tours will take you to explore the Roman ruins and ancient Emerald Mines nestled deep within Wadi El Gemal National Park, or to marvel at the stars in the pristine night sky. For thrill-seekers, a quad biking adventure promises an unforgettable adrenaline rush.
BIRD WATCHING
Wadi Lahami is situated next to a protected mangrove area which boasts one of the best areas for bird watching along the Red Sea coast. Many waders and shore birds roost and nest close by the mangrove swamps. Watch the ospreys dive for their morning catch while you enjoy your breakfast.
ECO DIVING PROGRAM
At RSDS, we take pride in our commitment to preserving and protecting the Red Sea’s precious natural resources. We are continually striving to minimize our environmental impact: utilizing solar energy, operating a desalination water station, recycling our waste, and supplying our restaurants with produce from our own farm. We invite our guests to contribute by reducing plastic waste, participating in clean-up initiatives, and engaging in local citizen science projects. Why not become a Reef Check certified Eco Diver and help us monitor and preserve our local reefs!
