Initially, know the IP address of your router. To see the IP address of your router, check the outer surface of the router. If you could not find the IP address using your router, use the cmd prompt to find the same for TP-Link Wifi Extender Setup.

Link your computer to the router's network using an Ethernet cable. Insert one end of the Ethernet cable to the router and the other end to the computer.

Click the Start or Windows icon on your computer and start searching for cmd. Click the Command Prompt option to open it. Type ipconfig/all in the Command prompt and hit the Enter button.

Wait until the command prompt window displays all the IP addresses and gateways on the screen. View the Default gateway row and note down the router's IP address.

Enter the router's IP address in the address bar and press the Enter button. Set up a network SSID and encryption. Stay signed in to the router's account for now.

After setting up a router network connection, plug the TP-Link extender into the power source. Connect your TP-Link extender and computer using an Ethernet cable.

Note the IP address of your TP-Link extender. Launch any browser application. Type http://tplinkrepeater.net in the address bar. If this method does not work out, type http://192.168.0.254 in the address bar and start searching.

Now the Web page loads successfully on the browser screen. Select the Quick Router Setup option and then click the Next option.

Choose your specific Region or country from the drop-down list and click Next. When you complete the preferences setup process, then begin the network setup.

Now, the TP-Link extender starts scanning for the nearby wireless networks. The searching process might take a few minutes to complete, wait until then.

When the search process completes, click on your router network SSID and type the encryption password, when it prompts, to connect to the network.

Click Next to complete the network setup. If you need a single larger wireless network, click Copy from the main router. To create a different network and personalize, click Customize.

Click the Next option. Take a look at the network settings finally and click finish if all are right.

Allow the TP-Link extender to reboot and to take up the changes. Once the TP-Link extender restarts, it automatically connects to the router's network.
