Working with our youth has changed my life forever I have not birthed children of my own, so experiencing the blessing of impacting another person ' s life in such an impressionable way happened when I started working with my middle school girl's club, "Mission Possible". It is the gift that keeps on giving
In this e-book, I will provide you with some simple and practical steps to start your club and make your vision come to life, I will help you to lay a firm foundation, make way for the things that matter most, so that you can reach optimum success. CREATING YOUR CLUB

CREATING YOUR CLUB'S VISION STATEMENT

YOUR CLUB'S CHECKLIST ENGAGEMENT & SUPPORT
STAGE 4:
WHAT'S YOUR CLUB'S NAME, LOGO & COLORS?
Stage 1: What is your "WHY"?
As the leader of your new club, it is important that you are moving forward with clarity and a clear concept You already have your "What", which is your girl's club, so now let's focus on your, "Why" Remember, the key to your success is being able to organize your thoughts and create a clear concept for you to follow. As you read, reflect, and answer the questions below you will gain greater clarity:
1
Why did you decide to start a girl's club?
What age range will your girl's club service? 2
3.
4
Why did you pick that specific age range?
What do you want to accomplish with your girl's club?
One of my key inspirations for starting my girls' club was my husband, 2019 San Diego Middle School District Teacher of the Year, Roosevelt Johnson For 9 years, he ran a boy's club called Man UP, but noticed there was no girl's club in place to meet the needs of the female students in his school My club, "Mission Possible" focuses on middle school girls between the ages of 8 and 12, who are very impressionable and entering a crucial turning point in their lives.
girls' club to life This next stage in the creation of your girl's club is extremely important and powerful By establishing a clear vision statement, you are setting the tone and preparing a solid foundation for your club to built upon. Your vision statement will assist parents, students, and community stakeholders to understand what principles your club stands on, the audience it was designed for, and the possible assistance that would be beneficial.
Reflection Activity:
A What is the vision for your Girls Club?
B Write your club's' vision statement using the notes above
I am a perfectionist, who tends to over think things which can be good and bad My vision statement was one of the hardest things for me to create My advice is that you make sure it reflects your passion, purpose, and comes from the HEART Your vision statement will reflect the values, goals, and essence of your club Remember, take your time creating your statement, review it, gain feedback from your, "Empowerment Circle", and rewrite if needed
Recruit girls that fall into the age range you desire to impact
Send out a permission letters to parents and guardians informing them about the girl's club
Get parent signatures and buy-in This is key!
Recruits individuals to help you with your girl's club
Create a list of activities and workshops for your girl's club to participate in
Acquire guest speakers for your girl's club
I strongly encourage you to not go on this mission alone. Recruit other like minded people, parents, and guardians to get involved Remember to focus on quality, not quantity You will get members and support as long as you remain consistent My mind was blown by all the support I received Communication is the key

Stage 4: What's Your Club's Name, Logo & Colors?
You are the creator and founder of the club, but remember it's not about you It's about the girls We are developing future leaders, so give them the gift of ownership and creativity by involving them in the process Let them see that their opinion and thoughts MATTER! In the first few sessions that I met with my girl's club I had them come up with the name, logo, colors, and creed of our club
Oftentimes, as adults we are placed in situations that require us to collaborate with others and share our ideas So, use this as an opportunity to teach the youth to engage in the process, as well as, understand the importance and value of exercising the gift of collaboration
