Euro Meeting 23 Regensburg, Germany
My first Euro meeting outside South Africa. I attended the South Africa one in 2019 in Mossel Bay and that was already an eye opener. The 2023 Euro meeting was held in Regensburg Germany, and I must say Regensburg did not disappoint. I had to do a lot of travelling to get to Regensburg and back, in total I was on 6 different airplanes and 2 trains.
I landed in Munich and from there a took a train to Regensburg, it took me about an hour from Munich to Regensburg by train. What a beautiful city of Regensburg, the locals called it little Italy the city with a soul. I arrived there the Friday afternoon and my home host collected me from the train station, and we went to registrations in a local pub in the heart of Regensburg. The local pub belonged to a 41er from Regensburg, and they have booked out the pub for the whole weekend for the euro meeting. Arrived there I got my first cold beer for the weekend and definitely not the last.

The Friday night we had a party at a local night club where we dressed up representing our countries and each table got a chance to perform a song from their country. We partied till late. Saturday morning was an early rise, and we did a tour of the town. We were divided into teams with question about the town and we had to go and find answer in the town. What a nice way to explore the town. The afternoon we had leisure time of our own and everybody took a nap to recover for the big party Saturday night.
The Saturday night party was held at a famous night club in Regensburg, we all arrived dressed up for the party and man what a party, delicious food, cold beer, and we danced till morning hours. Sunday morning was time to say goodbye and with all Euro meetings the famous tradition of the men’s meeting. All the different tables bring their famous drink from their country and the host table must drink shots from every drink. That all the Regensburg men took a nap after that. What an unbelievable experience for me and the best thing was all the new friends and family I made over the weekend. Goodbye Regensburg thanks for all the memories.
