Getting to know Gonubie 182 Round Table

Explain your role within Round Table ?

As secretary of Gonubie 182 I draw up the agendas for our bi-monthly meetings as well as minute these meetings. I add important dates to the calendar to remind members of any upcoming events. I also provide our table with correspondence from Border area as well as any other tables or areas that make contact with me. As treasurer of Gonubie 182 I oversee the Table's financial administration, this includes financial reporting, record-keeping, and managing incoming and outgoing funds. Lastly I am responsible for reminding our members what our financial goals are and encouraging discussions on how to reach these goals.

Why did you join Round Table ?

We actually had this discussion not too long ago at one of our meetings and I think my answer surprised some people but I honestly joined Round Table for the fellowship and time spent with friends, the reason I stayed however is seeing how much good I can do with the support of this organisation and the difference we can make in our communities as a team and as a Table.

How long have you been a part of Round Table ?

I was inducted in March 2021 so I have enjoyed just over 2 years of being a Gonubie 182 member.

What was your memorable moment while being in Round Table ?

There have been an abundance of great memories but if I had to choose 1 it would be the day I was inducted, I was fortunate enough to be inducted by the president of Round Table Southern Africa.

Why would you encourage more people to join ?

I feel that in addition to the fellowship with friends and charity work we do, Round Table is a great platform to not only grow but also expand one's professional relationships.
