Welcome to the Hinckley Mini-Rugby Festival 2019 I would like to wish everyone a very warm welcome to the annual Hinckley Rugby Club Festival where we welcome 84 teams and just over 900 children from the locality and further afield from Chester, Driffield, Lincoln and Sandbach to what is set to be a great day of Rugby. We are proud to be a Quilter Kids First Club and put the experience the children have of Rugby at the heart of everything we do. All our rugby is played in the spirit of the England Rugby Core Values of TEAMWORK, RESPECT, ENJOYMENT, DISCIPLINE and SPORTSMANSHIP, please join us in embracing these values in all aspects of today’s festival. I would like to take this opportunity to thank our U12’s team who have put so much time and effort into making today, what I am sure will be a huge success. Their hard work is appreciated by all at the club and I am sure all of you as well. Thanks also goes to the kitchen and bar team, as well as

all the other age groups running activities today, please offer them your full support. We ask you to encourage good play and support your team in victory and in defeat and remember that abuse and foul language has no place in the game of Rugby. We would like to remind players, parents and coaches to respect the referees and the decisions they make, they are all volunteers and human!! Thanks also to all the coaches and managers who give their time freely with passion and commitment and of course the parents who support their children whatever the weather, bringing them to training sessions, games and festivals. Good luck to you all and enjoy your day at Hinckley RFC.

Festival Rules 1. All games will be played in accordance with the current rules of the English Rugby Football Union. All age groups play to their respective “new rules of play” and ‘transitional contact’. Festival principles in line with the latest AGR implementation from 1st August 2018. 2. It is the responsibility of participating clubs that all players have current RFU registration cards to ensure that insurance requirements are met. Registration cards may be inspected. Challenges regarding the eligibility of any player on the grounds of age must be made by team officials before the start of any game and if that player is unable to provide a definitive proof of age, he/she must be withdrawn for the rest of the festival. 3. Participants are reminded of their responsibilities with regard to child welfare. If at any time they believe that child welfare might be compromised they should immediately advise the festival control point. Recorded images (photos, videos etc) may only be taken during the festival using equipment certified under the HRFC photography policy. A facility to do this will be available at the control point. 4. Squad numbers can be unlimited but below is a recommendation: Under 7 Under 8 Under 9 Under 10 Under 11 Under 12

5. Match duration will be as follows: where there is a half-time, this is in order to swap ends only, as efficiently as possible. (= MAX playing time) Under 7s 10 minutes (no ½ time) maximum of 5 games = 50 minutes Under 8s 10 minutes (no ½ time) maximum of 5 games = 50 minutes Under 9s 6 minutes each way maximum of 5 games = 60 minutes Under 10s 6 minutes each way maximum of 5 games = 60 minutes Under 11s 7 minutes each way maximum of 5 games = 70 minutes Under 12s 7 minutes each way maximum of 5 games = 70 minutes 6. All teams will be required to provide a referee for the matches indicated in the programme/running order and in line with RFU guidelines; these referees should have attended an appropriate course. 7. HRFC Festival will be played according to the new RFU age grade rugby regulations. There will be no overall winner. All current RFU regulations for age grade rules shall be followed. 8. Substitutions will be allowed as follows Under 7/8/9/10/11/12’s - Unlimited rolling basis 9. Reconciliation of any disputes arising during the festival will be determined by the HRFC Mini’s and Junior’s Chairman whose decision will be final.

General Information Parking Please do not park on the grass verge outside of the club, as the police may be in attendance and will issue parking tickets. Photographs As per current guidance all cameras, other than phones with cameras, must be registered. There may be children present who cannot be photographed within certain age groups; this will be explained if relevant at the coach briefings. Camera Registration Forms will be available in the new Clubhouse prior to the festival commencing. First Aid Please note that first aid will not be professionally provided and each team should provide their own first aider. Referees All teams will be required to provide a referee for the matches indicated in the programme running order and in line with RFU guidelines. These referees should have attended an appropriate course. Refreshments Food and drink will be available in and around the new and old clubhouse from 09.30am. Playing boots must be removed and muddy kit covered up prior to entry into the clubhouse. Toilets Toilets are available at both ends of the new clubhouse and at the old clubhouse. No changing rooms will be available. No Dog Policy Hinckley RFC is now a “dog free” zone. Please ensure that no dogs (except guide dogs) are brought onto or near the playing fields. Litter Please help reduce the amount of litter by using the litter bins provided around the site. Raffle A raffle will be held on the day, all prizes will be available to collect from the clubhouse. Please check prior to leaving to see if you are a winner, although we will contact all winners via phone number left on ticket.
