Fun things to do with kids in Rotterdam!

Euromast The Euromast observation tower lift takes just 30 seconds to whisk you up to a height of 100 metres. The Euroscope takes you up higher, to 185 metres. Every Sunday you can build your own Euromast at the Kidsclub!

MUST DO! From the top of the Euromast look for the steamship the ss Rotterdam on the other side of the river. Visit the ss Rotterdam and get the Small Captain’s Passport with questions and fun puzzles and learn the morse code on the go.

Diergaarde Blijdorp Discover one of Europe’s most beautiful zoos! Dive into the fully covered Oceanium and enjoy a magical voyage over the bottom of the sea or stroll across the African Savannah and stand face-to-face with the giraffes.

Plaswijckpark You can play, swing and romp in Speelwijck, see, hear and smell the animals in Dierenwijck, and relax and picnic in Wandelwijck.

Miniworld Rotterdam A whole day in Miniworld lasts just 24 minutes. See thousands of lights twinkling in the night, or when another day dawns, watch Miniworld come to life again.

DID YOU KNOW? A new theme park is being built in a former incinerator near the river on the south side of Rotterdam. Attractiepark Rotterdam will open in 2020.

De Ontdekhoek Do you want to make your own potato chips? You can at the Discovery Corner, a large workshop where you can do your own experiments. You can also learn how to dam water and make wonderful scented soaps.

FutureLand A visit to the free FutureLand Information Centre will not only tell you everything you need to know about the developing port, at Maasvlakte 2 you can see the biggest container ships with your own eyes.

Kinderspeelparadijs De Ballebak Four floors of fun! Go on an adventure and let your imagination run free in this indoor playground.

Bungelland Rotterdam In this indoor playground you can jump, climb, slide and much, much more! For younger brothers or sisters there is a separate toddler area, for the older children a sports zone.

Trampoline Park JUMP XL Jump for joy, as high as you can! The minimum age for jumpers is 8 years. For younger children there is the Puppy Jump on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

Monkey Town Who’s brave enough for the super slides? In this indoor playground, you can climb, clamber, crawl through tunnels, slide down slides, play with super Lego, romp in the ball pit and jump on trampolines.

Avontura Rotterdam Want to climb, slide and jump to your heart’s content? Then go to Avontura! This indoor arcade has attractions and games which reach up to 10 metres high. Mascots Okke and Pi are waiting to play and go on an adventure with you.

De Speelfabriek The Play Factory is a science centre for creators. Build and test your own race cars, flying machines and boats, make your own soap to take home, bake and eat your own French fries, or make milkshakes on the milkshake bike.

DID YOU KNOW? De kleine kapitein is one of the largest and most beloved children’s bookstores in the Netherlands. Discover books, picturebooks and games.

Villa Zebra A children’s museum that stimulates creativity and curiosity with art. There’s an exhibition for older children ‘Ticket to the Future’ and a do-it-yourself workshop for younger kids.

Natuurhistorisch Museum Rotterdam Wow! This Natural History Museum has a collection of more than 400,000 objects! Discover stuffed mammals, mounted birds, skeletons, insects, shells and fossils. Don’t forget to visit the curiosity cabinet.

Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen There is always something to see and do at the museum. Use the time travel book to travel from paintings with knights and dragons to modern artworks or get creative at the Boijmans Club.

Kunsthal There’s always plenty do at the Kunsthal. Go on your own Look&Do tour of the main exhibition and visit the KunsthalLAB for hands-on activities.

MUST DO! Visit stadium De Kuip! Take a tour and look behind the scenes at one of the world’s most celebrated football clubs. The tour includes access to the Feyenoord Museum.

Maritiem Museum There is so much to see at this family museum. Start your adventure in the harbour of Professor Plons, where you will discover ships, cranes, the port and ship transport. The museum also has a large outdoor area waiting to be explored.

Spido Don’t miss one of Rotterdam’s biggest attractions. Go on a tour with Spido! The Port of Rotterdam tour sails yearround and gives you a short but powerful impression of Rotterdam’s container ports.

MUST DO! Get the best ice cream in the country at De IJssalon. Do your parents know that there is also an IJssalon in the Market Hall?

Splashtours Hop on the bright yellow amphibian bus. The city tour goes past various Rotterdam sights. And finally, there’s the ‘splash’, a dip into the River Maas when the bus turns itself into a boat offering views of the city skyline from the water.

Maeslantkering Visit the Maeslantkering with its two enormous white gates and find out how a storm surge barrier works. At the interactive water square, you can discover for yourself, with pumps and sandbags in the water, what happens when there’s a storm.

MUST DO! Go on a Pancake Cruise on De Pannekoekenboot and eat as many pancakes as you like! How many pancakes can you eat in 75 minutes?

Kids Marina Want to feel what it’s like to be captain? At Kids Marina you can captain a police boat, tug boat or tour boat through the miniature port. Whilst sailing you can take part in an exciting treasure hunt on the water.

Rotterdam Beach Who will conquer the first wave? Take your inflatables with you and enjoy the sea, beach and dunes of the lovely coastal town of Hoek van Holland. Stop at one of the beach clubs for ice-cream, fries or pancakes.

MUST DO! Enjoy one of the many parks in Rotterdam like the Vroesenpark, the Zuiderpark and Het Park at the Euromast. Picnic, play and relax.

De Speeldernis Nature playground the Speeldernis is the perfect outdoor spot for those looking for an oasis in the middle of the city. There are trees, bushes, branches, reeds, water, stones and sand, the only limit is your imagination.

Klimpark Fun Forest Rotterdam Want to climb trees? At the Fun Forest climbing park it’s allowed, safe and fun! The climbing park is an experience for young and old. So, take your parents and enjoy the 7 different courses high up in the trees ranging in various heights and levels of difficulty. For the smallest monkeys, there’s a free play forest.

Midgetgolfbaan Parkhaven Who is going to be the champion? Play the 18-hole mini golf course at Parkhaven and try your best to finish in the least number of strokes to win. Each putting green is different and the obstacles become more difficult near the end of the course. DID YOU KNOW? The outdoor Skatepark Westblaak was designed by the Finnish skate park and landscape architect Janne Saario who used to be a professional skater.

Skateland Come show off your skills! This indoor hall is a paradise for boarders, inline skaters, steppers and BMXers. The obstacles, (mini) ramps and rails are regularly adjusted so that Skateland Rotterdam continues to surprise you.
