LUPANG HINIRANG JULIAN FELIPE
Bayang Magiliw
Perlas ng Silanganan
Alab ng puso
Sa dibdib mo’y buhay
Lupang hinirang
Duyan ka ng magiting
Sa manlulupig
Di ka pasisiil.
Sa dagat at bundok
Sa simoy at sa langit mong bughaw
May dilag ang tula
At awit sa paglayang minamahal
Ang kislap ng watawat mo’y
Tagumpay na nagniningning
Ang bituin at araw niya
Kailan pa ma’y di magdidilim
Lupa ng araw
Ng luwalhati’t pagsinta
Buhay ay langit sa piling mo.
Aming Ligaya
Na pag mang-aapi
Ang mamatay nang dahil sa iyo.

Prioritizing Maternal and Child Health: A Call to Action
Dear Esteemed Members of the Rotary Club,
I hope this message finds you in good health and high spirits. As we continue to make a difference in our community through service, I would like to draw your attention to a crucial area that demands our collective focus: Maternal and Child Health.
Maternal and child health is not just a matter of medical concern, but a reflection of our commitment to building a healthier and more equitable society. It is a stark reminder that our efforts as Rotarians can touch lives in the most profound ways, ensuring that mothers and children have the opportunity to thrive, receive proper care, and achieve their full potential.
As members of the Rotary Club, we have a unique opportunity and responsibility to champion the cause of maternal and child health. I encourage each one of you to contribute your expertise, resources, and passion to this important endeavor . By working together, we can create lasting change in the lives of mothers and children, leaving an indelible mark on our community.
Let us seize this moment to renew our commitment to service and make a meaningful impact on the health and well-being of mothers and children. Thank you for your dedication, and I look forward to witnessing the positive transformations that our collective efforts will bring.

CLUB OF KALOOKAN NORTH
MESSAGE FROM ROTARY INTERNATIONAL PRESIDENT
JULY 2023
Gordon R. McInally
President 2023-2024
Even as we face new and serious challenges, Rotary takes care of its members and those we serve, works to build lasting peace, and embeds belonging and inclusion in everything we do. That is why I am asking everyone in Rotary to Create Hope in the World.
This year, we’re prioritizing projects to support mental health. This effort is deeply personal to me. I know what it’s like to see someone suffer in silence. I have also witnessed the power of personal connections, the value of discussing emotional and mental well-being, and the lifesaving impact of preventive care and treatment.
Research shows that performing acts of kindness is an effective step any of us can take to protect our well-being. And by building peace within, we become more capable of bringing peace to the world.
Building peace is the essence of Rotary. Many of our service projects foster the conditions for Positive Peace. We work tirelessly to overcome barriers and create new connections. This year, we’ll promote virtual international exchanges for members to strengthen those vital connections.
Peace isn’t a dream, and it’s not passive. It’s the result of working hard, earning trust, and having open conversations that may be difficult. Peace must be waged persistently — and bravely. Everything we do across our areas of focus has the potential to foster the hope that can make peace possible.
The spirit of connection and purpose should inspire every Rotary member. When club leaders focus on offering an excellent club experience, we retain more members and attract more prospective members. We must make our clubs as welcoming and as engaging as we can.
Our goal is to create a sense of belonging, from our club meetings to ourserviceactivities.Weneedtocontinuecreatinginclusive, welcoming environments where everyone can be their authentic selves. All people of action need to be able to imagine a place for themselves in Rotary —it’suptoustoensuretheycandoso.
Over the next year, I will be putting a focus on continuing our journey in diversity, equity, and inclusion — ensuring that Rotary reflects the communitiesweserveandcontinuestotakesignificantstepstoward accessingthefullrangeofhumantalentsandexperiences, sothat we can better serve humanity. And we will continue to empower women and girls by helping them unlock the potentialalreadywithinthem.
Aswebeginthisjourneytogether,Itakeinspirationfrom Scotland’s national poet, Robert Burns, who in the 18th century spoke of all the world becoming kin, promoting “sense and worth, over all the earth.” This has long been my call to action, and I share it now with you. Let us build peace within and spreadit freely. Let us create belonging and imagine the future of Rotary afresh. Let usworktogetherjoyouslyandCreateHopeintheWorld.

Meeting Day Every 1st and 3rd Friday of the Month | 6:00 PM (1st Friday - CVC Civic Center, CVC Plaza, MH Del Pilar St., Caloocan City)
With the consent of then District Governor Eduardo "Edi" N. Chua Co Kiong, the organization of another club in Kalookan was set into motion upon the appointment of then RC Sampaguita Grace Park President, PDG Marcelina "Lina" Aurelio by Governor Chua as his special representative (DGSR).
The organization of Rotary Club of Kalookan North, composed of young professionals and businessmen in Caloocan City was the brainchild of DGSR Lina. The first organizational meeting was held on 14 April 1991 presided by DGSR Lina Aurelio, with the presence of Governor Edi Chua Co Kiong and then District Secretary PDG Teddy Zamora and eight prospective members. The governor hosted the meeting.
Sailing was initially rough though, after tedious adjustment by the prospective members and series of Rotary Information given by DGSR Lina, DS Teddy, Extension Chairman Pres. San Juan and other notable Rotarians like PDG Nani Certeza and PDS Rudy Alonzo, the club become a reality. The provisional club was subsequently chartered by the Rotary International on April 29, 1991.
It was on April 14, 1991, during a regular meeting of the club that an election was held and the group finally came up with their Constitution and By-laws. Elected as Charter President was Carlos V. Cabochan of CVC Supermarket. The induction ceremonies of the Charter Officers and Members was held at the Valle Verde Country Club on August 03, 1991 marked the birth of Rotary Club of Kalookan North.

ROTARY CORE VALUES
The world today is not the same as it was when Rotary was founded in 1905. Demographics have shifted, the pace of change has accelerated, and technology has created new opportunities for connection and service. What hasn't changed is a need for the values that define Rotary:
24
ROTARY CODE OF CONDUCT AS ROTARIAN, I WILL:
1. Act with integrity and high ethical standards in my personal and professional life.
2. Deal fairly with others and treat them and their occupations with respect.
3. Use my professional skills through Rotary to mentor young people, help those with social needs ,and improve people's quality of life in my community and in the world.
4. Avoid behavior that reflects adversely on Rotary or other Rotarians.
5. Not seek special business or professional a dvantages from other Rotarians.
