What plans do you have to help the fundraising chair to raise these funds?

The committee together with Fundraising chair have planned a Kalangala trip scheduled for 3rd to 5th September, 2021. This trip will cost 150,000 Ug.shs. per individual. The team hopes to keep 33% of that to cater to the Upcoming projects. Additionally, we plan to improve partnerships through signing memorandums of understanding. We also plan to work with our sponsoring club and other sponsors. We plan to make project contributions per month from club members to save on Service Projects Account. F. CHALLENGES AND SOLUTIONS

1. What challenges are you currently facing as a committee? Apparently, the challenges have been minimal and these are around finances, raising funds for projects has been difficult. Identification of potential partners is also problematic in the sense that some keep dropping off probably because of limited funds and other reasons. The Pandemic has also limited our reach in the community and ability to create greater impact. This has been overseen by the virtual engagements but these are expensive for members in the long run. Internet bundles are sometimes hard to acquire for all virtual engagements. Although the club has successfully completed the two mega projects that were implemented for 7 days each, it has been really tough, straining and challenging in terms of finances and resources.

2. What plans do you have to solve these challenges? We plan to cut budgets and to synchronize project planning meetings. To identify more sponsors and partners as well as create a strong foundation of understanding and working relationship.

3. In what ways/ areas do you need support of the presidency? (Please be specific) In the area of engaging all club members in project activities, in projects fundraising and participation in projects implementation.

G. Club Growth and Development

1. In what areas is our Club excelling? (Please give details and rating on a scale of 1-10.) The club membership has grown by 13 new members, this is going to greatly improve engagement and projects participation in terms of man-power and financial support. On a scale of 10, the club activities’ participation has improved to 9 out of 10. Our club has excelled in projects proposals, scheduling for meetings and implementation of the projects. The club has also excelled in timely projects reporting and accountability. The club also participates in virtual fellowships to a percentage of 90% of the club members i.e., 9 out of 10

2. In what areas do you suggest we should focus on to improve our performance? We should focus more on fundraising for projects way prior to project implementation time. Additionally, devise strategies from which members will pay dues on time.

H. CONCLUSION

In your conclusion, kindly summarize your report. In this area also suggest a member of the club that should be recognized as the outstanding member of the club and provide your reasoning.

As projects committee director, I gladly report and admit once again that the club started on a great impactful note through the implementation of a 7 days project. Our July Virtual Project, The Alive and Kicking project to create and increase COVID-19 Awareness and prevention. Then there came Mentor Me Serries-A youth empowerment project, our August Project. This project was held in partnership with four other Rotaract clubs as earlier stated in the report. These two projects so far have improved Rotary fraternity awareness to communities given they were conducted amidst the second wave of the COVID-19 Pandemic. The Change Maker President has been very supportive to the Projects’ committee in terms of Monitoring and evaluation of the project and follow-up of project activities.

The committee looks forward to more projects’

implementation with more partners especially the upcoming Rwamwanja Refugee Camp project which intends to impact many refugees in various activities. We also look forward to improving fundraising strategies so that it is easy for projects to be conducted. We still have two mega projects to implement and are very excited because we believe we are great at projects. This coming month of September, we shall implement a project in partnership with Nkumba Stewards as stated above. We are also ready to learn of any innovations by other clubs for purposes of growth. At this point, I would like to recognize Rtr. Hope Tushemerirwe, the Membership director who selflessly participated in the mentorship process of the new members who were inducted this month. The membership growth is very amazing.

F. CHALLENGES AND SOLUTIONS

1. What challenges are you currently facing as a committee? The problem I face is the time that is always put for mentorship most of the members are in a working class so they find it hard to join the mentorship sessions because the time they start most on them are always still at work and they are not allowed to put their headsets. 2. What plans do you have to solve these challenges? I am suggesting that the time should be lifted at least when everyone is at home. 3. In what ways/ areas do you need support of the presidency? (Please be specific) I really thank my President because he is always there to help out in mentorship, I think what he is doing right now is enough and I find myself ok. G. Club Growth and Development

1. In what areas is our Club excelling? (Please give details and rating on a scale of 1-10.) Projects and membership When it comes to projects, our club implements them so well and they are always a success because members always work hand in hand. For membership as it is said, “everyone brings one club.” Members have done their roles by recommending people to me and welcoming new members. 2. In what areas do you suggest we should focus on to improve our performance? Training of members for the roles of club leaders and involving them in all the trainings so that when a person is given a role, they know what to do exactly not to just fall into something they don't understand. H. CONCLUSION

In your conclusion, kindly summarize your report. In this area also suggest a member of the club that should be recognized as the outstanding member of the club and provide your reasoning.

Male Edrine, keeping clubs’ money is not easy but the reason that he is so good with the money records and he has paid 50% Mutebi Ronald, the club admin role is so tiresome but since this guy performs his duty well and he paid 100%. I think he deserves it.

R. COMMITTEE MEETINGs

Has your committee held any meetings this month? (If yes kindly gives details of what was discussed, who attended and the dates of the meeting) Yes, A Public Relations committee meeting was held on 28thAugust,2021 and attended by CMP JB Ssengooba, Winnie Stephanie Natukunda, Muliika George William, Nakimbugwe Mariah, Mutebi Ronald and Atim Mercy. We discussed about the progress of the Sabula newsletter, developed a better strategy on how to get people to advertise in the newsletter, agreed on a time frame when to call for articles and when to publish the newsletter and also developed a template to keep track of Rotarians and Rotaractors who have written in the newsletter so that every club member is given the opportunity to participate. We had a training on how to deal with our media handles with clear stipulation on what is the best time to make posts on these sites and how frequent we should post on or media sites. We also deliberated on increasing our frequency on YouTube by posting a video at least every week. We also discussed the redesigning and updating of our website and also publication on another website called ISSUE.COM

S. COMMITTEE ACTIVITIES What activities has your committee held this month? (For every activity, please provide the date, purpose, and attendance where necessary) Call for articles for the Sabula newsletter starting from 10th August, 2020 and this was aimed at making sure members actively participate and that club members better their writing skills. The magazine team has a tracker for all members who have submitted articles and as such each member is slotted to write in the magazine at some point during this rotary year. We also have had various trainings pertaining to maximum use of Facebook, Instagram, and twitter and linked in as these mobile applications are usually updated and have more and better features. In this regard the PR team usually has meeting to review how to use these features so that our posts have a wider reach. The PR team is then tasked to help around at least 2 or more club members on how to engage on the same sites.

What plans do you have to help the fundraising chair to raise these funds?

In our last PR committee, we sited companies to whom we intend o physically visit to pitch the idea of them advertising in our monthly newsletter and we believe these will be recurring adverts and thus ensure that after publication of the magazine the surplus money is retained by the club to do greater PR and also support service projects. V. CHALLENGES AND SOLUTIONS

7. What challenges are you currently facing as a committee? Some club members are still reluctant at submitting articles to the newsletter and usually need a push. Some club members are not zealous about our social media posts and thus leaving the fostering of these sites to only the PR team handlers. 8. What plans do you have to solve these challenges? Because members are not proactive about writing the newsletter team continues to encourage members to write and also sends out article titles as early as possible so that people have enough time to write the articles Developed captioning competitions. In this member are tasked to write captions for flirs hat are slotted to be sent out and the best caption is what accompanies the flier when it’s posted on all our platforms. 9. In what ways/ areas do you need support of the presidency? (Please be specific)

We need the presidency to develop a rewarding system for members who actively foster the club content online. We think this will push people to share more the club posts and retweet or posts. For example, awarding the member who has had the most Facebook share of a club post or the most retweets. W. Club Growth and Development

5. In what areas is our Club excelling? (Please give details and rating on a scale of 1-10.) Our club is excelling at level 10 in unity for example on 29th August we had a bonding night. One of the aims of this activity was to acquaint the new inductees with the old members and this activity had over 90% attendance of both the new and old members. 6. In what areas do you suggest we should focus on to improve our performance? We should focus on improving on timely and collective reporting of all club events. Releasing meeting and event fliers on time to maximize awareness about these events.

X. CONCLUSION

In your conclusion, kindly summarize your report. In this area also suggest a member of the club that should be recognized as the outstanding member of the club and provide your reasoning. The PR Team at Rotaract Bwebajja is determined to have the most fluid website where all service projects can be viewed and intending partners can donate or participate. We also intend to continue using our newsletter to showcase or service in rotary and also share our fun experiences through our Sabula stories so as to inspire people out there to join rotary. I suggest Shadrack Sssekono to be recognized as the outstanding member of the club because of his selfless and dedicated effort in organizing our upcoming annual fundraiser.

Has your committee held any meetings this month? (If yes kindly gives details of what was discussed, who attended and the dates of the meeting) On 27th of the month of August, me together with the committee members had a mini meeting about the bonding night that was anticipated to take place the following day and a lot was discussed. The meeting entailed finances to be used via the bonding night and all the proceedings to the success of the bonding night. It was successful as anticipated and am happy to inform you that right after that night came the annual Rotary cancer run and the attendance was more or less 90%. Thanks go to our president who rendered to us the free venue for this event and also all the members who participated towards this good cause.

AA. COMMITTEE ACTIVITIES What activities has your committee held this month? (For every activity, please provide the date, purpose, and attendance where necessary) This month our committee held a bonding night on the 28th of Aug and this was a success. It took place at a place called Ssisa in Kajjansi town council and the host was our very own president. It involved a camp fire, a lot of drinks, bumpy ridings, music, food, jokes and of course not forgetting games.

DD. CHALLENGES AND SOLUTIONS

10. What challenges are you currently facing as a committee? Transportation is a challenge due to Covid 19 Additionally, the turn up is always low due to current presidential directives of a maximum gathering of about 20 people. Lastly not forgetting that lately the economy is not doing good

11. What plans do you have to solve these challenges? Following SOPS to see it that regardless of the directives, members can gather and have fun minus contracting covid 19

12. In what ways/ areas do you need support of the presidency? (Please be specific) Constant advice on how to keep up with communication to see it that each and every member of the club is in a position that condones complaints what so ever Additionally, the office in question needs to put in place situations that make sure members are always in unity

EE. Club Growth and Development
