Welcome and Apologies

Apologies were given for Prospectives Monique Mahbeir and Ren-neasha Blake who conveyed that they would be leaving the meeting earlier.

Apologies were also given for Rotaractors Shantell and Kamillah who would be absent and for Dir. Tauna who would be late as a result of work.

BUSINESS MATTERS

•

President Chadwick informed us of March being recognized as Literacy Month and that the Book drive initiative would still be ongoing. He reminded all members to contribute at least one book.

•

President Chadwick reminded us that March 9-16 is World Rotaract Week and several activities will be conducted to celebrate the event.

•

P.R.O Mikhail informed us that we will be doing a freeze mob at the start of Rotaract Week and all interested participants should contact him via his email address meikolive@hotmail.com Location is to be confirmed.

•

President Chadwick informed us that a booth would be set up in the Main Library for display in keeping with Rotaract Week.

•

President also encouraged us to share with the world through social media what Rotaract Club is, this Chadwick dubbed “Rotaract Blast”.

•

Rotaractor Claudia informed us of Movie Night scheduled for March 14. Tickets will cost $150 presold and $200 at the door. It is scheduled to take place in RM O2 along the Humanities and Education block.

•

Rotaractor Claudia informed the members that on March 20th donations of food items (tin food, bread etc) will be solicited so that the International Service Committee can prepare refreshments for Debating Competition on the 22nd.

•

President Chadwick reminded the members of the requirements to be fulfilled in order to become an official Rotaractor; payment of district dues, payment of registration fee, participation in at least one fellowship activity and seven services.

•

President Chadwick informed the club that Induction Service is scheduled for March 20th, which will be followed by celebration at CRU.

•

President also discussed Rotary Fun Day which is scheduled for this Sunday at Hayfield Country Club in Ewarton, St.Catherine. The tickets cost $3,500 but students will get a concession of $2000 (all inclusive).

•

Prospective Monique Mahbeir reminded the club of blood drive which will occur on March 25th & 26th.

Interested persons should contact her at 844-6042.

•

A presentation was done by Dr.Alan Barnett entitled 'Professionalism in the Workplace: Professional Communication'.

•

Dr.Alan Barnett encouraged the members to have standard of ethics and professionalism in any job or vocational activity that they participate in.

•

Games was forfeited to accomodate other Business matters.

Fellowship Through Service

•

President informed us that there will be no meeting next week as a result of Sports Day.

•

Chadwick also reminded us that elections were upcoming and tentatively set for two weeks after exams.

•
