;Ifdtf / ;fem]bf/L! , in the form of various capacity building projects and programs. These activities have also helped us give out the right message about what Rotaract is, supporting our quest to establish a strong public image. We successfully concluded the Rotaract Global Model United Nations 2019 Nepal Edition in August, with the participation of about 80 youth in different capacities from 8 different countries across the world. I am thankful to all the Rotaract clubs and Rotaractors who supported this initiative with overwhelming participation of Rotaractors. Also, the utmost appreciation to the members of the organizing team who worked day and night to make the event successful. We have once again proven the credibility of Rotaractors in our district, while also presenting the best hospitality to our international delegates. Thank you to everyone who has directly or indirectly supported the event, all our partners, sponsors, and the entire Rotary family. The next big thing to look forward to is the first Presidents and Secretaries Meet coming up this September. Thank you for the positive response towards the event. We have planned a different modality for the event this time, to give a fruitful and productive experience to the Presidents and Secretaries. While the first half will involve discussions on different agendas, the second half of the event will mainly be dedicated for the Presidents and Secretaries to discuss on various ideas, issues or problems through moderated group discussions, followed by fellowship activities. I request and look forward to the presence of the Presidents and Secretaries of all clubs in the event in the first Presidents and Secretaries Meet of the year. As circulated by the District Secretary, we are soon beginning with the District Rotaract Representative’s Visits to clubs. Therefore, a request from the District team’s side to all clubs to coordinate with your Zonal Rotaract Representatives to schedule the DRR Visits. Also, I hope all club leaders now have access to rotary.org and rotaractnepal.org and are regularly updating your activities. In case of any issues, please feel free to contact the District Committee’s Club support team. Thank you all for the positive and vibrant energy and activities, let us continue marching ahead!

Interview

rtn. Rajan piya, DRR 2008-09 How did it feel to become the first DRR of RI District 3292? I felt proud to be the first DRR of District 3292 which is a part of an international organization like Rotary International, the first humanitarian organization of the world. For all this, I would like to thank my seniors who believed in me for such responsibility. How did things change after the bifurcation of District 3290 ? I felt more responsible, more creative, more independent, and more resourceful after the bifurcation. It was like the division of a joint family separated for the independency in responsibility, creativity, resources, etc. It facilitated a new beginning and prosperity of Rotary movement in Nepal. How difficult was it to integrate all the clubs of Nepal & start something new ? Before the bifurcation, we then had a defined structure and experiences of running the district. This helped us to cope-up with the many obstacles that came by such as managing funds. After the bifurcation, there was a great need of solidarity; the preparation of Constitution & By-Laws was the key to kick start the activities. My seniors in Rotaract had duly worked on it for which I am always grateful. Name a few things clubs should change with the change in time ? I think we are working under a great worldwide social organization, so our activities should be similar to the motto it has carried worldwide. This is not a business organization that requires mind game, all the activities should be done by keeping the heart at our sleeves. I have felt that many friends at present use their mind-games in service activities. At least the senior leaders should not come under such influence. In my opinion, people who think that way should better leave the organization. We should also be very productive and quick when it comes to service delivery. How has being a part of Rotaract helped you in your professional & personal life ? I learned many valuable things that were not even incorporated in my formal education. As humans, we have a greater responsibility towards individuals, families & our societies that surround us. Working with & leading the organization especially one like Rotaract is the best for learning and breathing personal growth and management, fund management techniques, leadership qualities, etc. It has helped me to become a well-groomed businessman, professional & a successful social worker.

He is also a member of Rotary Club of Chitwan.

What are the things you learned in your tenure that you have carried with you even till this time ? Leadership, Honesty, Patience, Social responsibility. Why do you think should youth join Rotaract ? To learn skills to develop their career, and to make them understand the responsibility towards their family, their community and beyond. What is your favorite leadership mantra ? 8 + 8 + 8 for balance sheet of your life. - First 8 hours - Honest, Ethical, Hard Work in your Profession - Second 8 hours - Good Sleep & Rest - Good Balance Sheet of your Day - Third 8 hours - 3F - Family, Friend & Faith - 3H - Health, Hygiene & Hobby - 3S - Sole, Service & Smile What message would you give to current Rotaractors ? Think about 8+8+8. Work from your heart, not from your mind and lastly avoid an election in the selection of officers.
