Year 7 Library Monitors Year 7 have again showcased their leadership skills this term, by being the first year group involved in the Library Monitor Program. Library Monitors are given responsibilities working in the library to help with book borrowing and returning for staff and students, assisting in events and creating their own promotion for their favourite book. Well done to the following students who have shown initiative in leadership as newly trained Library Monitors: Preeti Aisha Ali, Trinity Hanslow Lay, Emily Rough, Atsupui Koudakpo, Bianca Fuller, Chloe Plink, Kimberly Aba, Aijha Nuku, Zane Catlett, Shayla Tran, Caitlin Xerri, Tirita Samokia Haumono, Vince Angelo Tumbaga, Patricia Ross, Christiane Convento, Natasha Kapulong, Rakeem Kabbout, Sakshi Sharma, Jose Sio, Kanyapat Meekoh, Tiarne Kennedy-Pearson, Hannah McDonald, Atsupui Koudakpo, Bianca Fuller, Vince Angelo Tumbaga and Kalindra Brown Ambassadors As always, the Year 7 Ambassadors have shown that they are able to be an enthusiastic part of the Rooty Hill High School community by ensuring that they participate in as many school activities as possible including Office Ambassador duties, Art on the Hill, Year 6 Enrolment Night, the Year 7 Ambassadors are always on the go, ready help and displaying the PERSIST values.

Domestic Violence also has a proven negative impact on those who are both directly and indirectly involved.

Year 7 Peer Mentoring Year 7 have also been given the unique opportunity to participate in the Peer Mentoring Program. A group of over 60 Year 7 students interact once a week with a Year 9 Leadership class and work through ways to effectively and positively communicate, establish peer relationships as well as discuss other adolescent issues. Year 7 make 'F-Block' Beautiful A group of Year 7 students s assisted in creating a space in F Block where their Year group is able to be celebrated. The students have made posters which showcase Year 7 in action, and are on display every day. This has created a greater sense of pride in Year 7 through the celebration of achievements, friendship and being a Rooty Hill High School community member. The Year 7 Celebration wall will continue to be added to, and all Year 7 students are encouraged to add to it. A massive thank you to the students who have already contributed to this project: Courtney Hagan, Ruchelle Dawe, Aidan Goundar, Divina Ambat, Hanna Ngo, Rumman Memon and Emily Rough. Informal Assembly - Topic: Domestic Violence This term, the topic of Domestic Violence was addressed in the informal Year Group Assembly. This topic was chosen because it is an issue that effects every

Students were taught about the signs are of Domestic Violence, the impact of it and what to do if they become aware of it. At the end of the Informal Assembly, Year 7 was asked to make a pledge to Say NO to Domestic Violence - in any and all of its forms. Students signed this pledge and these pledges are displayed in F-Block. As always, well done and congratulations Year 7 on another great term. Keep persisting for excellence, and remember to always make yourself proud! Miss Melanie Douglas Year 7 Adviser Year 8 This term, Year 8 has continued to demonstrate the PERSIST values. Many students represented the school in rugby league, volleyball, soccer, netball and debating. There has been an increase in school involvement and effort by all students. The number of merit and significant achievement recognitions given to Year 8 students increased from the previous terms, and is testimony to their hard work and dedication. This term, as a year group, Year 8 focused on their futures and took the time to think further about their possible careers. Their I want to be‌ boards set the scene for an excursion to Sydney University.
